      I know wmr might not always show a direct deposit date or even an approved status. I still have no update on my 2020 transcripts and wondered if that first has to update before we can get a deposit.

          This my first year looking up transcripts, always relied on wmr for update.

            Makes total sense.. It also means that if a person has access to look up their tax account online then that is way more accurate and timely than the wmr tool.

              I don’t know the answer for certain, but I have a hard time imagining, with a computer-driven system, that a refund would be sent to an account without an update to that account. Every transaction is recorded in a database, which your transcripts connect to.
