IRS says WMR is down!!

8:53 pacific time. I just got off the phone with the IRS twice. They informed me that WMR is down and has been since yesterday. WMR is giving out incorrect information and is not updating at all, they don’t know when/if the system will be back up and operating correctly. I called IRS twice for verification. Both representatives told me the same thing.

I filed and was accepted 1/21
WMR has me on one bar still.
I’m hoping for a Direct Deposit on Friday.

WASHINGTON (AP) – The IRS stopped accepting electronically filed tax returns Wednesday because of problems with some of its computer systems. The outage could affect refunds, but the agency said it doesn’t anticipate “major disruptions.”

A “hardware failure” forced the shutdown of several tax processing systems, including the e-file system, the IRS said in a statement. The IRS.gov website remains available, but “where’s my refund” and other services are not working.

Some systems will be out of service at least until Thursday, the agency said. “The IRS is currently in the process of making repairs and working to restore normal operations as soon as possible,” the IRS said.

Taxpayers can continue to send electronic returns to companies that serve as middlemen between taxpayers and the IRS. But those companies have to hold on to the tax returns until the IRS systems are up and running again, the IRS said.

While the IRS said it is still assessing the scope of the outage, it expects 90 percent of taxpayers will receive refunds within three weeks.

People who have already filed returns don’t need to do anything more, the IRS said.

I called the IRS and they said since the system is down no refunds are being processed at all. No transcripts will be available and WMR is not accurate. As if they needed any other reason to process refunds slower….

@hiloshark no bs ! It’s down. Sorry to disappoint you!! The post doesn’t say anything about money not being deposited, it says WMR is down. Which it is.

even if the irs site isnt working or correct, sbbt would still have notice that a dd is coming, the wmr site has zero to do with the actual depoaits being sent. so if on the sbb

i just got off the phone with a irs agent and she said their site is down and i asked about ordering transcripts and if u can order ur return one ur taxes have been processed

@Renee She said it’s not updating and it’s giving out incorrect information. So it may work but your information could be incorrect or not updated accordingly.

I can access my boyfriends account on WMR, but not my own. We have no DDD. He filed and accepted 1/25, me on 2/1 both TT. Both can order account transcript. Anyone else having this issue?

I have never been happier to know that wmr is down lol. I was accepted 1/19 amd absolutely outraged that i was still at 1 bar this morning!

I just logged in to check if my transcripts were ready yet, and it is down with “technical difficulties.”

I believe it for sure. She said the IRS is still working and processing refunds but WMR is down.
