Good morning all,
I spoke with the IRS twice this week and I’m hoping someone here can help me decipher the feedback I received. First, my situation…
Filed 2/12, accepted same day.
Bars disappeared 3/2, no movement since with “your tax return is still being processed” message.
I’m a weekly updater – cycle 5.So I called Monday and spoke with a representative that was very hard to understand and couldn’t seem to explain a lot about what he was telling me. He stated that he could see where I previously had the “you are pending additional processing and wait 10 weeks message” but now that wasn’t there anymore and I was in corrections. He said something to the effect of, “that’s not that bad, probably no letter and they’ll just fix it themselves” adding “it probably wouldn’t take to long” but they are behind so just keep waiting.
I decided to try my luck and ask another representative, so I called back the next day. This representative told me he could see where my return was accepted and that it was still “processing in a process somewhere”… (no joke…). He then added that I don’t have a date yet for when my refund would be deposited, but that he could “see my refund amount”. I asked him to provide the context, as in, does that mean they corrected it and it should be soon but he was unable to tell me anything else other than give it a few more weeks.
Has anyone else been told be an IRS rep they don’t see a DD date yet, but can see your refund amount? If so, what’s the significance? I can only assume this means that the IRS finally reviewed it and changed something and maybe I have an approved refund amount and they just need to give me a date, but who knows…
Any insights are appreciated!
