I call bs. Every year people file, call early…The same shit every year, people calling in aint the issue, the guy taking calls isnt prosessing returns, so why would calling in mess things up? For the last 4 yrs ive gotten my dd within 7-8 days. This yr not even close. Whats pissing people off is the irs not updating wmr as they should, people just want to be kept in the loop. Not ignored with some bullshit spiel

@Val, I think you are exactly right. The IRS builds redundancy into their systems, a simple hardware failure would NOT result in a wide scale shutdown.

I can’t blame them. Yes I want my refunding. Just as bad as the rest of us but the most I’ll do is poke around on this forum. I’ve read so many threads for all different filed dates and these people are ridiculous. 3 days pass and they’re calling the irs to bother them with b.s. questions. Leave them alone to do their jobs an after 21 days go ahead and call. There’s people saying they’re lying to them just to get their dumb question answered. Its like going to a restaurant an ordering a burger. Instead of waiting the proper amount of time prior questioning what’s going on they order then moments later call over the watress and ask what the he’ll is going on. Now this of it as the entire customer base at the restaurant doing that… Nothing will get done.. Patients people patients

@Val I’m just seeing your post and I’m with you. They’re just playing catch up.

Yeah, I feel that if something happened, they would have updated people earlier when they first started telling people there were issues.

OK, so I’m not usually a conspiracy theorist…..BUT, does anyone else think not accepting new returns for a couple of days is the only way the IRS will catch up and get those of us from 1/19 and earlier complete by the 21 day mark?

I’m sorry I call BS on this hardware failure. They’re just backed up and want people to quit calling so they made up some lie to get us off their back I mean they’re the IRS! You would think they would do some type of computer diagnostics prior to Tax Season! We don’t believe you! You need more people!
