I filed 1/14 accepted 1/19 using free tax USA I had the normal processing message on wmr for about a week or so after the second week the message change to We apologize, but your return processing has been delayed beyond the normal timeframe. You can continue to check back here for the most up to date information regarding your refund. We understand your tax refund is very important and we are working to process your return as quickly as possible. On 1/30 I received a letter in the mail the irs ltr 12c saying that they needed more information to process my return which I faxed over the same day I got the letter it says if I’m due a refund they will send it out in 6 to 8 weeks has anyone received this letter and if so how long did it take for you to receive your refund any help is greatly appreciated.

I received the same letter on February 11th and faxed the same day I haven’t received no changes on my account or transcripts

They say 6-8 weeks to protect themselves and they read from that script all the way through the tax season. In reality, this early, it shouldn’t take more than a week
