      Is is possible I got ID verify because I have a fraud alert on my credit report? I’m curious if anyone else had the same situtation

          Did you move, get married, get divorced, or have a kid? Those are also reasons you could have to ID verify. I’ve also seen that if you have a significantly larger refund than previous years, it could trigger the ID verify.

            That sounds like a reasonable explanation. The IRS is taking measures to protect taxpayers’ identity and avoid giving money to identity thieves.
