The IRS is finally acknowledging issues with WMR.

About 15 minutes ago they tweeted “We are aware of some taxpayers experiencing issues with the #IRS “Where’s My Refund” tool and are working to address them as soon as possible.”

The WMR landing page also states: “Updates to Where’s My Refund Status Delayed for Some:
The Where’s My Refund app may show “Return Received,” even if we’ve already issued your refund. Your refund will not be delayed. There’s no need to call the IRS.”

I filed on 2/4 and was accepted on 2/13. I’m fortunate in that my transcripts were updated last Wednesday and my refund is pending in my account (today is my DDD). I’m still at one bar on WMR. I hope they resolve the issue tonight and that many here get good news soon!

I’d like to charge the IRS a penalty for broken systems 😂 It is our collective tax dollars that are ironically sustaining the shit shows that are every government agency.

nice to know ! ive given up on expecting my $$$ anytime soon , since WMR just isnt updating and now im just patiently awaiting 3/5 , because thats when we hit the 21 day mark. They didnt start processing refunds until 2/12. early filers got put into the same pile as everyone else this year. we filed on 1/27

I called today ha ha. Turns out I have an issue that will delay my refund possibly till mid April. I had to mail something last February in 2020. They just started processing it the first of February. I assumed it would have been done by now.

What’s the problem with the transcripts? If they haven’t updated then you haven’t been processed. WMR has never been reliable. It’s always been transcripts you go by.

Yeah the WMR tool isnt working, whats going on with the transcripts is what we need to know, the transcripts updates before the wmr tool.
