We filed our taxes on 2/7/17 through turbo (efile) it was accepted on 7/10/17. We then filed the injured spouse form in 2/12/17 by walking it in to our local irs department and they stamped it and filed it (I guess, however that works. And I have done some research as far as how long it will take to get our refund and it states that it can be up to 8 weeks but my question is, now do they mail it to you or direct deposit it as we originally filed for upon completing our taxes with turbo. Also, my husband is the only one with income (injured spouse) and it’s my student loans that are the issue but I have no reported income on our taxes. Will he get the entire refund back including child credit. He did not qualify for EIC just child credit. And does it really take the entire 8 weeks to receive the refund? On the where’s my refund site it shows that our ddd is 2/22/17 but shows a link for offset underneath that. Does that mean that once the money gets deposited that department of education will take it and then I have to wait for it to be direct deposited again after the injured spouse form goes through or what happens?? Why does it show a ddd if dept of education is taking it or does it mean that the injured spouse form has already gone through and that will be the ddd for real?? Hmm I don’t know but I need that money ASAP cuz we got bills that need to be paid 😕 any and all info is much appreciated. Thank you! Also don’t know if it matters but we’re in Cali 🙂

I have no clue when that form will come into play since you walked in with it. I used to file injured spouse but I would efile it together with my return with Turbotax (when I used to use them).

If they are taking the whole amount, you will not see a refund. That form should have been processed already beforehand to avoid the offset. I would walk into the same building and ask why it’s not affecting your return since it is still being offset for your student loan.

On WMR does it list the full amount on the side? I have an offset that is a small portion of my return but
WMR still shows the full amount on the side.

But what about the injured spouse report? When does that come into play?

So on the wmr website it shows topic 203 but with the ddd as mentioned above which is this Thursday. I have called the dept of E.D. hotline and it says that they are taking the whole thing so with me filing the injured spouse form will it be dd still on Thursday. The entire amount of the refund is the injured spouses refund. (Sorry hope I’m making sense)

Your dates threw me off lol but I figured you meant 2018 instead of 2017 and 7/10 as 2/10. I was beginning to wonder if this was an old post lol but I saw the date you created the post haha.

Call the offset hotline and find out if the offset is for Dept. of Education. 800-304-3107

If you already got a DDD on the WMR with Tax Topic 203, yes…most likely your refund will be offset. Offset doesn’t delay the refund, when you have a DDD on the WMR, you will get your refund/difference, if any after the offset, on your scheduled DDD.
