      Hello,
This is my first time filing an injured spouse form. Spouse owes state tax debt and we didn’t find out about offset until after the return was processed. Originally our refund was going to be DD into our bank account, then it was all taken as an offset. I completed the form but it didn’t ask anything about refunding me my portion- as in where it goes. Will it just go into the bank like our original refund was supposed to? Or will they mail a paper check?
      Thanks for any help!

I had to file injured spouse due to child support for at least 5 years and I ended up getting my half back but it took a couple months. I didn’t get that damn stimulus check though. I’m still mad bout that.

They will issue a paper check most likely. Ours last year took exactly 8 weeks to the day before we received the check.

It should be DD but chances are you won’t see it for at least a few months, maybe longer! They normally say it takes 12 weeks but I’ve seen it take until June for people that file injured spouse after the fact
