This is my second year filing injured spouse. The first year it took a very long time to receive an updated transcripts.

This year I filled a week ago and was accepted a few days ago. All of my transcripts seem to be populated. I know this process is supposed to take 14 weeks and I made sure my return had “Injured Spouse” noted on the top left corner of the return.

I have 150 Tax Return Filed with cycle 20190405
      806 W-2 or 1099 Witholding
570 Additional account action pending with a date of 2-11-2019

Should it be a concern to see this information so quickly filing injured spouse or is this pretty much normal and last year taking so long to update transcripts was an exception?

I pulled last years transcripts and the 150 date wasn’t until 3-19-18 vs the 2-11-19 and would have been filed about the same time. They took a while to touch the transcripts last year.

      Thanks!

@Parienceobiwon Thanks! I’m going to e-file with it next year because I don’t want to deal with mailing it in. I had to pay for the upgraded version this year anyway because of a schedule I had, I should have just e-filed it lol.

For what it’s worth, I filed with Tax Slayer and it didn’t cost any extra to file with the Injured Spouse form.

I filed with turbotax and only had to pay $40 for the upgraded version of turbotax to process with the injured spouse form.

              Best wishes.

This is my second year filing IS, but I didn’t file with my return and should have. Last year I had just learned about IS, got offset and mailed the form after. It took until the end of May/beginning of June last year to get my refund check, and I had mailed it Feb 1st.
I filed this year and got the form mailed last Friday and it arrived last night. I figured it would be better to send before they offset this year.
I have a question if anyone can answer. Anyone that filed with Turbo Tax filing IS, what is the cost to file with it?

Yes, I filed with the IS and my transcripts are updated. This is my third year. I think it really does get faster. The first year took the entire 11 weeks. Last year, I got my refund around the time everyone else did. This year I’m thinking it won’t be any different. Don’t be nervous, I think it’s because you have already done it and there is not that much to look into.

Last year I think mine took 6 weeks I think it depends on how many years you’ve filed how complicated your case is if you have any changes from previous years and so on and if nothing changes it gets faster but that’s just a guess I’ve been filing injured spouse for at least 6 or 7 years now electronically is definitely the fastest way to do it with your return.I do mine with free tax usa and it doesn’t charge me to do it with mine

My transcripts have already updated. Last year it took a little longer. I still don’t have the 846 code yet. All my other numbers are only a day off. I pray this year goes faster. It took 8 weeks last year. My first year 2017 took 12 weeks.

Yeah, I filed in Jan of last year and got mine mid April.
I was surprised to see the transcripts so quickly this time around and wondered if they proceeded without the IS for some reason and I’d have everything offset.
Hopefully they’re just getting it done fast this year though I know there’s likely to be a wait on the IS case review.

Injured Spouse is a manual review. Given they were all on Furlough, you may have gotten lucky or may still get delayed.

I think you just got lucky. Sometimes IS gets processed quickly, and most are very slow. I waited until May last year until I got my refund check.
