I went absolute hell last year with getting my return. I filed at the end of January and did not get my return until months later. I ended up having to get a tax advocate to help expedite the process for me. She found out that my hold was due to income verification. I sent in tons of paperwork to her and I’m desperately trying to avoid having the same thing happen to me again. I’m curious to know if the hold was triggered due to me filing my taxes before my information was sent to the irs by my employer? I read that employers have until 1/31 to send tax documents to employees but they have until the end of February to file with the irs. Does anyone have any information about this? Thanks (not sure if this means anything but Most of my income was 1099 income and I had the ACTC and EITC)
