how i found out if i was gonna have to verify my id, i went to the site that verifies your id. try placing your info in and if it continues and start asking you questions only the real you should only know then that means your flagged because they were unable to verify your id, and that’s why your bars are missing, and that’s why your return is being delayed. i realized this because i had researched before finding out what the missing bars may have meant, which was they were having a hard time verifying your id and they couldn’t guarantee your return in 21 days no more. you are under manual review, and your return are being placed on hold until they are able to verify your ID. me and my wife filed separately, her bars went missing as well. i told her to go through the id verification site as i did and hers didn’t go through. hers didn’t go through because they wasn’t having problems verifying her id, and i figured that out once she got a ddd the next day of 2/10. i was like wow, so that’s why it allowed me to go through the verification process and not her, because they wasn’t delaying hers for identity theft. if you do it before your 21 days are up you’ll be ahead, because by the time they tell you anything it’ll be 21 days. you’ll have to wait 9 weeks from the day you got verified so do it now. they say 9 weeks only because that’s what they are trained to tell u. normally it’ll take like a week or 2. the site to go through is idverify.irs.gov. also a good way to find out if your return has been done processing try and order your return transcript with the address you filed your income tax with this year. if it goes through then be expecting a ddd on the next cycle update. that’s what happened with my wife, and we filed the same exact day. good luck.
