New Illinois resident this tax season. My drivers license is being switched over in February. Because I don’t have a current Illinois drivers license/state ID and because I’m a first-time Illinois State filer I have to file by mail.

Anyone familiar with how long the state of Illinois takes to issue refunds when filing by mail and when filing electronically? I am not NOT in any hurry. I am from Missouri and they are very fast. I am simply asking to learn how Illinois works.

      Thanks

Last year I filed at the end of Feb and had a deposit 4 days later. I filed 1-30 this year and nothing so far

Illinois is always slow. I lived there a lot of my life, and I would file taxes in Feburary usually. I cannot recall exact dates, but I’d get the refund in March or April depending when exactly I filed.

Mail will take longer than if you file electronically. I’d expect your federal to arrive first, even if you are a Pather (EIC/ACTC).
