If you spoke to the IRS yesterday or today can you post what they said here and how you were able to speak with a person? I’m hoping if people post here it’ll make it easier to see what every ody has been told. Since it seems people don’t seem to read the topic and post the exact same stuff over and over. I spoke to somebody a week ago and I got the feeling the lady just wanted to get me off the phone and kept telling me it hadn’t been 21 days blah blah blah. Then she mentioned something about it taking 10 weeks and she said there was an error code on my transcript but couldn’t tell me what that meant. So she was talking in circles and I think grasping at straws. So hopefully it’ll give people more information when they’re able to call in and keep people from posting the exact same stuff that the topic is about

          Accepted 2/10 with turbo
          Path, no stimulus on refund
          Lookback, unemployment and Self-employed

Today we were told it was in the review/errors dept until 3/5. Then it got kicked to processing. She said allow about 2 or 3 weeks from the processing date and we should get an update or deposit. Got my Transcript by mail today and it has an as of date of 3/15/21… idk wtf that means. The lady I got today actually seemed like she understood and gave a shit. Luckily!!

@Aaron B yeah if it says “for english press 1” just press 2 it may take a couple of times, I had to call back 5 times just to get it to go through.

I’ve had it sometimes not even give the option for english or spanish or asking for an ext number. it will cut me off right away. So you’re saying to hit 2 for Spanish?

Got thru today using 800-829-0482 ext 652. Spoke to a nice lady after being hold about 8 minutes. Gave her my info, she confirmed what she needed to and placed me on another 5 minute hold. when she returned her statement was ‘your return is under review, you will have to wait up to 10 weeks for it to process’. Nothing else. glad she wasn’t rude but i wanted to go off. i filed and accepted on feb 13th, so its a long ride from here apparently.

@Aaron B I got through in 5 minutes, but you have to call until you get the “welcome to the IRS” rather than “thank you” then press 2, it will be in spanish at this point but just listen for what you think the word “extension” is and enter it. It may ask twice, then it will ring they will say a bunch in spanish but it’s mostly saying to visit the IRS.Gov website then it will get you to a real person.

I’m starting to find it hard to believe anyone has talked to the IRS as I’ve tried 40 times since Monday and it always plays a message they can’t take my call due to high call volume and it hangs up. I’m calling the number on the right with ext 652. Is there some other trick or way to get through .. hell I’d be happy to just be on hold for 30 minutes at this point

Spoke with someone on Monday and told me my return was a simple error and in the errors department for the last 13 days. Said I did not need to do anything and to just continue checking. He said that department is partially open and is delayed. Hopefully something happens this Friday & Saturday

I spoke with them yesterday…i was accepted 2/11 and she told me no errors and to call back May 9th (😳) if I had not recieved my refund.
My transcripts updated overnight to dd 3/14. Im pretty sure we are pulled outta the early filer void and thrown back into que when we call and they look at it

Basically, as you can see from my prior posts, I called the number Jessika91 did, waited 7 minutes to talk to a very nice lady, and got the same info Jessika91 did.

While we do have your return and did accept it on February 12 at around 10:30 AM, not a whole lot has been done with it since. It has just entered processing, but I think it is far enough along that if there were a problem, it would be coded as such, but I’m not seeing anything like that. Keep checking with the Where’s My Refund tool, and from what I can see, you should expect to see changes in a few days; three, maybe four, and would likely get your deposit shortly after that. “

Thank you. I didn’t think that I remembered them asking me those questions other years. So maybe it was I.D. verification by phone. I’m praying for an update overnight.

called last Friday at my 22 day mark (filed 1/26 acc 2/11) was told there had been system wide error w/returns filed the 11th & they had all been batched in the errors department & to wait another 3-5 day. called Monday & was told it was in errors resolution & to wait. He couldn’t tell me error codes, refused any other info. kept getting the runaround. After asking multiple times how long I’m supposed to wait he said to wait 6 weeks.

They didn’t ask me for any info except the usual. SS #, Address and so on. It makes no sense how some people are told its a 3-4 day delay to me that’s bullshit. It seems they’re tir d kd getting yelled at so they tell people they won’t have to wait much longer but other people are told anything from a couple days all the way to 10 weeks. I wonder what they’ll say after the 10 weeks has passed

I was able to get through today in about 5 minutes and got told mine was in the error resolution department and to wait 10 weeks and keep checking. They said that they can’t see the error and don’t know what’s wrong but call back April 23rd if I haven’t heard anything.

when you called did they ask you for info from you 2019 return? I’m trying to figure out if these were regular security questions or i.d. verification.

I spoke with someone at the irs by calling 800-829-0582 EXT 652.
On Monday Mar 8th they told me that there were no issues with my return it was just still processing. Then again called yesterday and they said that there was a 3 to 4 day delay (from mon) that I should have a change or refund date by Friday the 12th. That they were just backed up.
