March 29, 2019 at 2:12 pm #4320883Cheryl
I finally got through to a TA and he sent me a letter of what I needed to turn I to him. Which was a letter from employer of wages and withholdings on company letterhead. We did that very same day.
Our W-2 doesn’t show up from employer.
So I asked if we are good to go now he said yes but he hoped to have it completed and updated by April 29 …WTF .. that is even after the IRS date of the 25th. Total was of my time. -
March 28, 2019 at 3:12 pm #4320641Tina
Still no update!! So dam frustrating!!!!

March 23, 2019 at 2:20 pm #4319449Xanthia
Filed 1/28
Accepted 1/29
2/25 Got 1541 Take Action
3/1 “you tax return it being processed”
Received a letter 3/11 “45 day review”
Received a letter 3/14 “60 day review”
Called IRS 3/14 and they said “it could take till 5/27 to get my refund”
UPDATE 3/22 on Transcripts with an 846 code 3/27
WMR UPDATE This morning to Approved and a DDD of 3/27Don’t listen to anything the IRS has to say, i suggest not even calling in case it red flags.
They are useless!!!
Things are moving and I am now seeing progress. Now just waiting for the deposit.
Have hope everyone.
Disregard any delay letters in the mail and what the IRS agent has to say!!! -
March 23, 2019 at 2:04 pm #4319443KDUECE
No update for me. Same ol “being processed” bull.
-
March 23, 2019 at 11:14 am #4319410Kim

-
March 20, 2019 at 1:18 pm #4318438Tina
I just called and the guy was so so rude!! He said the letter states not to call till after the 60 days and that’s all he would tell me!!! This is absolutely ridiculous!! If we owed them money the would be freezing our accounts, charging us interest, and putting liens on our property however they are welcome to do what they please with no consequences!!!! So so mad!!!!!
-
March 20, 2019 at 1:10 pm #4318433Cheryl
Just got off phone with TA and because I was on hold all day yesterday now they will call me back in 5 business days they will not even put me on hold to talk to someone

-
March 20, 2019 at 9:17 am #4318335Meegan
After 5 hours on hold total, I finally got some answers. My wages reported doesnt match my W2 submitted by my former employer. My question is this: why in the F&@K couldn’t the IRS tell me that when I started calling in February?? Why give us a generic answer, instead of telling us the problem so we can get it corrected?? I have lost all faith as a taxpayer in our government at this point. They have no problems taking from MY paycheck every single week, but they push me off when it comes time to paying me back MY money.
I have to amend my return, but a TA is going to expedite the process for me due to hardship. As of now the IRS has me listed as May 1 to get my refund. Beyond frustrated.
-
March 20, 2019 at 4:27 am #4318242Brian Smith
Got a CP05 letter a few days ago stating the 45 days review then just received an another letter saying an additional 60 days is needed. Now my question is is it the 60 days on top of the 45 days or are we just counting from the day the letter was received??
-
March 19, 2019 at 11:13 pm #4317941Cheryl
I was on hold from 9 am till 11 am finally spoke to first TA that says you can talk to real TA then out me on hold from 11:30 until 4 pm no luck trying to get a TA I will try tomorrow once again.
But it looks like our W2; isn’t showing up on employers side as being turned in when it has. The first TA told me that. But he can’t do anything you have to be transferred to another and I never got through.
-
March 19, 2019 at 8:53 pm #4317886Tina
Still no update!! This is absolutely ridiculous!!
-
March 19, 2019 at 3:47 pm #4317697Kim
Received a letter saying April 25! But transcript says April 15! So are we getting interested for the our money they’re holding?!! Ughhhh
-
March 19, 2019 at 1:50 pm #4317610Meegan
Anyone ever amended a return? My amended return says I owe back $2,000 of the original return amount. IRS site says to mail payment with the amendment. Cant they just deduct that from my original amount on my original return?? I don’t have $2000,hell I barely have $20!!
-
March 19, 2019 at 12:14 pm #4317565Cheryl
No I have same info
1541 2/15
Letter saying 60 days CP05 on 3/11
Filed with H&R
On hold now with TA
We will see -
March 19, 2019 at 9:47 am #4317514Meegan
Just spoke to a TA and they said my wages don’t match the wages reported by my employer, this is probably because I used my last pay stub and filed early. Also they haven’t received my 1098 T from the school I was enrolled in in 2018. Why the hell couldn’t the IRS tell me this 60 days ago?? Why can’t they just tell us what they need so we can get it fixed, instead of throwing up all these bullshit codes and sending generic letters with no information?? I am beyond pissed.
-
March 18, 2019 at 2:42 pm #4316855Paige
After 2 hrs on hold to speak with a ta my phone disconnected… called back after holding 30 mins to speak w someone he said the call was dropped bc of high call volume and transferred me back to the ta before i could say anything. I was on hold for 1 hr 30 mins before i had to hang up to pick up husband from work. Is there a better time to call? I started this morning at 8 et and was stuck on hold for 2 hours on my day off
-
March 18, 2019 at 1:35 pm #4316811Ashley
I received a CP05 after the 1541 code. Then i recieved another letter stating they need an additional 60 days. This is so frustrating. Tax advocate can’t help. He said my account is locked and believe it has to do with my EIC. But that he is not sure.
-
March 18, 2019 at 11:04 am #4316721Kim
So I was reading that they have 45 days to hold our money after that it’s charged interest. So it’s that why on my transcript the refund is a little more? Anyone else ?
-

-
March 18, 2019 at 8:31 am #4316669Paige
Im on hold with a TA right now shes nice but put me on hold again after waiting 15 minutes to speak with someone. Im so nervous and sick to my stomache last year they tried to take my entire return and i had to wsit until mid april to recieve it i dont want to wait that long again.
-
March 18, 2019 at 5:21 am #4316621Paige
My delay is injured spouse sbut i filed with turbo tax for thr last 6 years and i refuse to do so again next tax season. I got charged an outrageous amount and have nothing but w2s i entered this year. Last year i worked a job where i had a retirement account and health insurance so i assumed thats why i needed the pro edition of turbo tax they pushed on me. This year i accepted and was approved for their loan on their card only to be emailed days later to say since there is a delay with my return ill get my card but not the loan. Smfh
-
March 18, 2019 at 12:44 am #4316552Rob
I used turbo tax too. Just got a letter says we need 60 more days to review your account. Was accepted on 1/28
-
March 17, 2019 at 7:46 pm #4316468Jerry
I used TT also. I’ve used it the last 5 years, but I noticed this time it glitched a couple times during entering. It kept trying to reload last year’s employment in this year’s info and I had to keep deleting it. I wonder if that is my problem. I’m giving it another week and then I’m gonna call. It’s getting ridiculous
-
March 17, 2019 at 6:37 pm #4316451Confused
I usesd Turbo Tax and won’t be doing that again
-
March 17, 2019 at 5:31 pm #4316440Zoriah
Did everyone with early delay file turbo tax?
-
March 16, 2019 at 9:57 pm #4316195Ebony
Kim,
I guess so. When I have called they didn’t provide much information. It’s all just a waste of time. I understand they want to cut down on fraud but this has been such a significant inconvenience for some many.
-
March 16, 2019 at 9:47 pm #4316193Kim

I have no idea what’s going?!! So do we just wait til April 15?
-

I need to set up payment arrangements with DOE but thats a headache trying to figure where to start.

March 16, 2019 at 2:49 pm #4315911Ebony
Hi Kim

-
March 16, 2019 at 6:55 am #4313745Irritated
Filed with INjured spouse on 01/28/19. Found out later that IS wasn’t needed due to my SL being rehabilitated, it was too late couldn’t pull the IS form. Also claim EITC and CTC. Came off of delayed notice and switched to processing on 03/01/19. Still no update. Due to IS form I can’t get any information until the 11 week waiting period is over which would put me at getting my refund mid- April if they do in fact take the whole 11 weeks to process. It just blows my mind that the government expects timely payments and will penalize you for not being punctual with payments, but they can take as long as they want to give money that is OWED back to us. I understand they are going through things with a fine tooth comb, but with 2 million people LESS filing at this time last year than this year, you’d think they would get through these a little faster. Oh well, happy waiting everyone, seems uncle sams got our balls in a vice grip.
-
March 16, 2019 at 5:26 am #4315769TeTe
Yes everyone these ladies are correct you do have to tell them that your experiencing some sort of hardship before they agree to look further. If you have to tell them that you are then you can get a better answer. I’m not sure why WMR have not updated but I don’t want tokeep putting hope into it since they can give me better information and they could look deeper. 3/20 sounded promising to me so I am going to just wait and see if I get DD that day. The number to the TA is 18777774778 I hope this is helpful to you all. I will keep you guys updated.
-
March 15, 2019 at 11:53 pm #4315551Kim
Can someone give me the number to call please thank you
-
March 15, 2019 at 9:06 pm #4315493Kim
So my number ends In 05 but nothing has changed!! I have 4 codes, and notice issue 3-11 any hope??
-
March 15, 2019 at 7:49 pm #4315465Cayla
Whoa sorry for all those responses, they weren’t showing they were posting….lmao
-
March 15, 2019 at 7:47 pm #4315464Cayla @Paige
WMR did not have a pending DDD for me. Just stuck on we’ve received your refund and it is processing. I told the TA I had a disconnect notice for April 1st she said since I was facing a disconnect that she would be able to look into my case. I’m guessing she looked through my transcript and that’s where she said they had a DDD of 3/20. She said my IS was completed and released on 3/5 and it usually takes about 2 weeks to recieve your refund after that. Hope this was helpful! The TA can’t look into your transcript unless you are facing some sort of hardship.
-
March 15, 2019 at 7:42 pm #4315463Cayla
Paige,
I gave her all the usual info and she asked if I was experiencing any hardships, and I said I wasn’t sure. That I thought I could manage but that I did have a disconnect notice for my electric set for April 1st. She said since I had that notice that she would be able to check into my case which is when she gave me the direct deposit info. She said they approved and cleared my IS form on 3/5 and it usually takes about 2 weeks to receive funds after that, she looked and saw they had a direct deposit date of 3/20. Had I not had a shut off notice she would not have been able to investigate my case. Hope this was helpful!
-
March 15, 2019 at 7:37 pm #4315457Cayla
Paige,
I called the TA and told her I was unsure if I fell under the “hardship” rule as I believed I could manage but that I did have a shut off notice for my electric bill and she said since I had that notice that she could look into my case for me, when she did she said she saw where they cleared my IS submission on 3/5 and that I have a DDD on 3/20 so she said my funds should be there by then if not sooner. Hope this was helpful! Had I not told her about my shut off notice she would not have been able to help me, she said I would’ve just had to call the regular IRS line.
-
March 15, 2019 at 6:33 pm #4315428Paige
Cayla did you have a pending ddd or did the tax advocate have you provide additional info? I work during business hours so ive neglected to call the irs, but i filed injured spouse 2/5 and havent received a letter or anything yet.
-
March 15, 2019 at 6:12 pm #4315419Cayla
I, like everyone else in this forum have been checking WMR religiously. Filed IS and claimed EITC and CTC. Accepted 1/28 came out of 1541 delay on 3/1. I’ve read on other forums that people has success contacting a TA, so I did so today, she was very helpful and let me know I have a DDD on 3/20. I would suggest trying to contact a TA if you haven’t seen any new updates for a while on WMR.
-
March 15, 2019 at 3:00 pm #4315261TeTe
Hey guys I got a update I called the tax advocate and they said I should be receiving my refund by 3/20 please trying calling them they do help you
-
March 15, 2019 at 2:18 pm #4315212Meegan
And lets put more salt in the wound!! Turbotax sent an email saying they will be debiting my bank account for their fees since the IRS has delayed my return. Awesome. Can’t pay bills due to return being delayed but Turbotax thinks they have full rights to my bank account. NEVER AGAIN.
-
March 15, 2019 at 2:17 pm #4315211Tina
Still no update for me either!! This is beyond frustrating!! I can’t believe how many of us are experiencing this with the irs!!! If we owed them money they would be charging us interest and penalties for not getting paid to them!! This is bs!!
-
March 15, 2019 at 10:04 am #4314990Vynette
Irs2go still says processing; however transcript now has 846 refund issued 3/20/2019.

March 14, 2019 at 12:13 pm #4313812Other Tara
I’m pretty sure if your cycle code is 05 then the update is overnight tonight. WMR should update on Saturday based on any changes to transcripts tonight. As for other cycle codes, they should be throughout the week.
-
March 14, 2019 at 11:52 am #4313795Kim
When is there a big update?
-
March 14, 2019 at 12:07 am #4313283Lashunda D Lewis

March 13, 2019 at 9:03 am #4312729Meegan
I am beyond disgusted with the IRS. Got my letter stating I am under review, along with the other 30,000 people that are posting on these forums. They have no problems taking my money out of my checks every damn week, but when it comes time to give it back to me they do it on their own timeline.
-
March 13, 2019 at 8:20 am #4312697Ebony
My cycle is 20190704. Anyone knows what that means?
#beyondfrustrated
-
March 13, 2019 at 6:54 am #4312666Joy
I have a processing date 2/25. Received letter saying 45 day review then a few more days received another letter saying they needed another 60. That’s when I called and asked for a TA. TA called me yesterday to tell me one of my employers didn’t report my earnings so no way of comparing numbers. Called that employer and they had to send a letter and copy of my W2 to my TA. I am praying I hear some good news soon even though TA said it could be between 4 and 6 weeks but I don’t have that kind of time. I faxed her shut off notice to see if this speeds things along.

March 12, 2019 at 3:25 pm #4312354Jerry
Angie B – Exactly the same here. Filed 1/23, accepted 1/24. Got 1541 on 2/11. Was there until 3/1. Received the CP05 letter on 3/9 and a 2645C letter yesterday. The first one said 45 days, the 2nd one said 60 days. Nothing has changed over the last 10 years. Same filing status, same dependents. I did move, but same town – just a different street. I keep hoping that the letters are just because they are so delayed and have to tell us something.
Who knows.
-
March 12, 2019 at 9:58 am #4312212ANGIE B.
I received a 2645c letter…basically stating a 60 day wait….

1541 came on 2/16
We’ve received and processing 3/1
2645c letter 3/11 dated 3/7

Trisha im in the same boat except i filed and was accepted 2/5 with injured spouse. Updayed to 1541 2/9 and ive been processing since 3/1. Havent updated since then and just keep checking bank and wmr daily. Its getti g depressing because i keep comparing to last year.
I had a ddd last year for 2/22 only to wake up that day and realize doe offset due to husbands loans. Amended my return and recieved a check in the mail by 4/16.
Will we get a ddd if we filed injured spouse or should i expect to be playing the waiting game
-
March 12, 2019 at 3:48 am #4311997
E-filed with injured spouse form, accepted 1/29. Was on the take action for few weeks, updated last week to processing. I cannot access my transcripts online tho, either. No update yet. Still waiting for a DDD or hoping it just magically appears in the bank

Hey Guys….. Jus got my bars back with an DDD. To everyone who’s still waiting patient is the key I know I sound corney, but it’s true so don’t believe everything you hear because I was told my review was suppose to start March 11th, and that my 45 days would start then now look..

March 9, 2019 at 8:32 am #4311108Marissa
I’m so fustrated i filed 1/24 and it got accepted the following day but changed to the stupid 1541 till 3/4 where it switched to processing but has been there ever since. I’m beyond fustrated. I claim the same way I have for the last 10yrs no change old why all this bs. So sick of it. Next year im waiting it seems lile those that filed in February had no issue. Most of my friends and co workers got their refunds already and they filed in Feb. Such crap that its going to be 2months and nothing i was told to wait till 4/25 that would be 3months from when i filed and it was accepted.
-
March 8, 2019 at 12:02 pm #4310748Stephen
It hasnt been 45 days for anyone yet! Taxes started processing on 1/28 so at a maximum your taxes has been processing for 40 days!! My 45 day review didnt start until 2/25 and would be fine by 4/11 hoping it doesn take that long but who knows. They are backed up plus the new laws require then to comb through the refund more than in previous years to prevent tax fraud.
-
March 8, 2019 at 11:27 am #4310726Ebony
The longest process ever!!!!! Still says being processed since last Friday after the 1541 code was removed. I didn’t get the letter yet. I’m praying for a DDD date tomorrow. So upsetting. I hope they really don’t make ppl wait until April. That’s sickening.

>the income tax withholding amounts you reported on your return
>the claims for tax credits you made on your return

>the household help claimed and/or
>the Schedule C income you claimedNext Steps: Our review will be completed 4.18.19 and afterwards, you’ll receive either a refund check or another notice from us. SMH!!!

Hey Guys…. I also had the 1541 take action notice that went to processing on March 1st. So I finally talked to an agent that finally made since said that a lot of ppl are being reviewed as well just bc they pick a lot of ppl to check and make sure their income matches their employer’s…. And alot of ppl may not have to send in anything. Just be patient and wait, but me I’m tired of waiting ,but I don’t have a choice.

So if you filed early and your bars went away but you have the message your “refund is being processed “and amount still on left should you call the irs after 21days ? or just wait the 45 days (also no tax topic on wmr no access to transcript) (No letter sent
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Does it mean we are out of the red because I was told I was under review and that I would receive a letter, I have yet to receive that letter. I did have the eitc, but I still see people getting DDD. I was accepted a little early, so I guess I was put in the test batch and thrown back out!

Well my 1541is supposedly do to me not having any reported wages in 2018. Supposedly I didn’t work in 2018. Boss has to resubmit his yearly wages for me. Boss doesn’t believe me when I told him that info and says it could be a scam. Good luck trying to convince an old fart all he has to do is resubmit but he’s stuck in his old ways. Sucks for me baby

@La the same was told to me. I corrected the issue then requested my transcript. I just received my transcript in the mail that I ordered back on 2-23-2019. Is it possible that since my status has changed from 1541 to “received and being processed”, my transcript has changed as well? Has anyone else’s?
-
March 2, 2019 at 9:35 am #4308095La
Jennifer they told me the same thing til a smart lady told me it’s because my wages I reported don’t natch what they see. She thought I made an accident and I’m like no, the wages I said are correct one of my jobs just didn’t report my wages.
So glad it’s almost over. Most stressful tax season for me.

So I have been watching and reading this page since about the 20th of february. I also got the 1541 take action message the first time I called the irs they said just wait I did not have to do anything that it was under a 45 day review but no letter was sent to me. The second time I call the IRS was this last monday was told i was under a 45 day review and a letter would be sent. I am coming to you all this morning with some good news i also switch to being processed yesterday and then this morning woke upnto my refind was approved and will be semt to my bank by march 6th. I also had the eic and actc. So I have came to the conclusion that the irs people have no idea.
-
March 1, 2019 at 4:48 pm #4307630Joejoe
I agree with redacted. My 1541 was because my income didnt match thanks to a mix up with my w2.
I will have to amend my return with a tax advocate to fix the problem.
However my 1541 updated to we are processing your return as well.
Making me think they just converted every 1541 into the same processing message. -
March 1, 2019 at 4:32 pm #4307620
Maria,
I’m just saying we ALL went from the same code to the exact same “update” overnight. With each one of us having different issues as to why we had 1541. I don’t see everyone’s very different issues being resolved over 1 night.
That’s all I’m sayin.
-
March 1, 2019 at 4:20 pm #4307612Maria
@redacted so is it like a false alarm ? Did anyone NOT update ?

1040x isn’t ready yet, so how did you amend your returns?
-
February 27, 2019 at 7:00 pm #4306061Josh
@spre
Everything with your return and numbers is identical to mine and I’m still sitting 1541. A tax advocate was assigned to me today but it’s a waiting game. Zero updates from the 1541 in over a month
-
February 27, 2019 at 6:38 pm #4306045Confused
@Spre I am pretty much the same situation had to get a tax advocate and submit to him a amended return so they would release my refund which tax advocate expedited so hopefully I will have my refund in the next week or 2. Been sitting with 1541/570 since 2/9…ssmh

Filed 1/16.
Accepted 1/28. Had standard message and then went to take action with code 1541 on 2/16. On 2/23 take action message, no code. Fingers crossed for update on Saturday. -

So since I got my trans in the mail here it is. And note I ordered them on 2/4
Filed 1/7 I always file early period it stops identity theft. And my employer had my w2 ready.
Cycle 20190605 processing date 02/25/2019
Accepted 1/14
806 4/15
766 4/15
768 4/15
570 2/25Ive never had employer healthcare or 401k until last year. My position the company has the best insurance ive ever seen As well as a 5% match on 401k so I took it. The w2 they had for me online was missing thoae and I didnt realize it So I claimed 2500 more in taxable wages then I should have(just got thw corrected w2)
I make alot of money so I only recievwd 4000 put of the maximum 5200 for the eic if I would’ve claimed the 2500 less my refund wpuld have been bigger.
I use TurboTax, I was able to do a mock up with a new user account for the new wages using my turbotax CD and the results for that 2500 less was an eic of 4600.
You’d think they would let us screw ourselves out of money.

Cheers

Tuesdays and Fridays are when transcripts update depending on what you’re last 2 digits are for your cycle…..Wednesdays and Saturdays are when WMR is suppose to update (also depends which day based on last 2 of cycle) I’ve been seen ppl who’s transcript updated yesterday (2/26/2019) and got a DDD today for the 1st.

Update #3
IRS said on Feb 19th dd on the 27th
Now says starting March 4th review should get letter but have not gotten one and 45 days from March 4th so April 18th now. IRS saw nothing on my return to comment on why a hold
This has been worst experience. -
February 27, 2019 at 8:58 am #4305417Meegan
Well here it is the 27th, the day we all thought MIGHT be the day…and nothing. No updates, no transcript changes, NOTHING. People who filed after me are getting their money left and right who had EIC and child tax and mine is held up for NOTHING. I will never file early again. EVER. We are being punished for being proactive.
-
February 27, 2019 at 8:55 am #4305413Tina

-
February 25, 2019 at 6:30 pm #4302344KDUECE
Refund would indeed be higher due to more tax being taken out but it also doesn’t negate that it’s possible the w2 are off by said amount. The refund amounts are up this year by the actual tax law and I know of people who can attest to a larger refund they received. It’s an actual fact that the tax law did change and it screwed up everyones wages. That’s been all over the news. In theory my theory actually doesn’t sound too farfetched. Like I said I don’t know anything for sure or how many people were affected but I can attest to some who last paycheck didn’t match with there w2. And was off by you guessed it…about 3000 dollars.
-
February 25, 2019 at 3:36 pm #4302139Confused
@Amanda what I have seen from others posts is that you will start processing on the date that is next to your 570 code.
-
February 25, 2019 at 3:30 pm #4302120Amanda
I have codes, 806, 766, 768, and 570 :/ anyone know what these mean? Processing date of 3/4 cycle date 20190705
-
February 25, 2019 at 3:14 pm #4302070Stephen
@kdeuce
There should be no difference between your w2 and what you actually made w2 are produced out of the record of pay all year. If they didnt update and take less taxes out of each check like the law says would happen then it would just show you paid in more taxes than you were supposed to causing a larger refund.
-
February 25, 2019 at 3:06 pm #4302052Josh
The new tax law is destroying us all. Look at all the holds.
-
February 25, 2019 at 11:00 am #4301565KDUECE
Has anyone heard about the new tax law that went into effect for this filing year? President trump supposedly passed a bill and within that bill for the workers we were to see more take home pay and less taxes taken out. Well supposed that bill went unnoticed by many employers who continued to take out the normal taxes which threw a lot of people off on there w2. It’s been alot of people who received refunds last year but this year owe a tax because of it. Which maybe the reason so many of people are delayed, 1541, or “under review” To me personally it makes since the IRS would be backed up not cause of the shutdown but more so the new taxes withheld being off. Seen alot of people saying there’s was off by 3000 dollars or so. I took my salary all year added it up myself and low and behold my salary I calculated myself was 3000 less than my w2. Nothing I state is certain just a few opinions and a few facts. Just a little hope for us all cause from my understanding irs is correcting amounts on there own and then sending refunds. Makes since for sooo many people to have codes, still or being processed, and all the programmed answers from the IRS.
-
February 25, 2019 at 10:33 am #4301532RNnz
UPDATE: So i finally heard from my previous employer and he told me he MAILED out his part well over two weeks ago. I can only guess that that is why they cannot verify wages yet since the IRS is so backed up with their mail.
Now I have to wait for my taxpayer advocate to call me back to figure out what the next step is.
I had previously been told by an irs rep that I was “randomly selected” for a 60 day review. They even said that there was nothing I needed to do on my end because there was nothing wrong with my return and to just wait.

This is my 2nd year IS because of my husbands old student loans. He doesnt work and hasnt for the last 8 years and he cannot log into the DOE website to set up payment plans and had this same problem last year. last year i did not find out about the offset until my DDD was here and no money was in the bank.
This year i recieved paperwork bout my wages being garnihed from a bank car loan i took out in 2011. I just feel like giving up this is another roadblock when i am barely making it paycheck to paycheck. -

Honestly no way to tell
Some people with 1541 and 570 have been updated but a majority have not.
I’ll update if I get any more info.
My 579 date is 02/25/19

@joejoe
Nope I have no way of viewing it. I’m thinking they’ve adjusted it already, simply bc up until about 6am today I still had the 1541 delay code. Now it’s says I’m putting the wrong amount in. So I’m praying they fixed it already. Guess I won’t know the amount till it hits my account.
-
February 23, 2019 at 8:50 am #4298065Confused
#joejoe so my processing date next to code 570 and 150 on my transcripts show 2/25/2019 so what your saying is it will process starting Monday?
-
February 23, 2019 at 8:46 am #4298053Joejoe
@symone
If you can access your transcript you’ll see a 570 code with a date.
They will start reprocessing your return on that date and adjust your income accordingly.
So anytime from that date til 21 days from it. -
February 23, 2019 at 8:42 am #4298042Symone
I’m now being told I’m putting the wrong info in. I’m not sure if this is a good thing. I was told my w2’s were inaccurate and they would fix them so maybe they did But now I don’t know what amount I’m getting back.
-
February 23, 2019 at 8:32 am #4298013Joejoe
Anyone with code 1541 on wmr is gonna have code 570 on their transcript with a date next to it.
Whatever date is next to your 570 code is the date they will start reprocessing your return.
Think of it as that date being your a accepted date and restarts the 21 day processing time. -
February 23, 2019 at 8:13 am #4297965andrew
@Josh You say your employer not having your w2s on time was their fault yet you say you filed on 1/8/19…… Employers aren’t required to get you your W2 until Jan 31st so it sounds like its your fault for filing early, knowing full well the IRS wouldn’t even look at returns until the 28th.
-

I cannot believe this. WMR is still saying “Take Action”. I was really hoping there would be some type of change this morning. It’s crazy that so many of us are going through this bus. I have to say that this has been the worst tax year I’ve ever experienced.

Just wanted to know if anyone received an update?
-
February 22, 2019 at 9:41 pm #4296380Tiara
I first had TT 152 and ref 9001 I was told it was just generic because of child tax credits and earned income credits. 2 weeks later changed to take action 1541. I also found out my old address was used and changed it today when I called she said I was under 45 day review but was also told my return had finished processing and it said return posted. Im confused she wae trying to tell me I would not get transcripts for 2018 but she was able to send them to me so does this mean my refund is being released and I’m done with the review
-
February 22, 2019 at 5:58 pm #4295724Symone
Josh,
I’m not 100% sure. I’m just being hopeful for us all. We didn’t get updates with the others who received a date last Saturday. So it would only be right. But NOTHING about this tax season has been “right” prayers for us all.
-
February 22, 2019 at 5:35 pm #4295649Josh
@symone I hope that is true. It’s how it should be. Correct, issues the refund and move on the next. I just can’t believe it’s taking so long. What make you sure about a big update tonight?
-
February 22, 2019 at 5:32 pm #4295643Symone
My 1541 code was for wages as well. But the irs agent informed me they had my proper w’s and “they would fix them” I’m not sure how true it is. I’ve seen on different websites they fix your wages and send you, your refund for the proper amount. An agent did tell me that. I’m hoping for an update tonight. I never seen anything except a still processing then 2/9 it updated to 1541 and has been there this far
-
February 22, 2019 at 5:05 pm #4295595Josh
The employer not having their w’2s on time should not be our problem. My employer never even sent me mine and delayed everything as long as possible so I had to do some guessing on wages. No I pay the price because of their lack of efficiency? It’s needs to issue and sort it out all through the rest of the year. It’s complete and total garbage how long we’ve been waiting. I filed 1/8/2019 accepted 1/14/2019. Two weeks later 1541 and still there for wages. At this point I’ve given up. Two boys on my own and not working currently with bills piling up.

Similar situation to most of you guys. 1st call was Tuesday and agrnt told me i was fine. Called this morning and after a while of explaining and going over acct with agent it was realized they didnt have my info from my main employer. So although I used the w2 I received from said employer, since the irs “hadnt received” my employers wage info yet somehow, I was flagged because of unverified income. Checked with employer and was assured everything was done correctly on THEIR end. Even received my state refund wednesday from a period I worked in a taxable state thru same employer (filed using info from same w2) so somehow the irs appears to have “lost” or mishandled my file and now I’m waiting not sure what to do..

@Chery try 404-338-8099. I used them last year due to the fact that my employer did not report my earnings in a timely manner. I have reached out to them for help again this tax season, because it looks like I am having the same issue. Very frustrating.

Update #2
As my first call said I would receive my refund on the 27th that was last Friday
I just now called just to confirm the 27th and now they tell me I will get a letter postmark March 4th and am under review for 45 days.
Which will be April 18th I am very upset over this -
February 22, 2019 at 2:31 pm #4295214RNnz
@Dru
Thank you! This makes me feel a bit at ease about the time frame. This tax season has been such a mess.
-
February 22, 2019 at 11:39 am #4294740Dru
RNnz – I have the same issue. The advocate will ask for a copy of the W2 from that employer, as well as see if you can get a letter from them (on letterhead) that states that you did work there, when you worked there, what your wages were for 2018, and what the withholding amount is. Once they get that they will submit it and ask to have your funds released.
I did this yesterday with my advocate and he thinks I should have my refund on about 2 weeks or so after that because everyone is backed up due to the shutdown. :-)
-
February 22, 2019 at 9:33 am #4294347RNnz
I called a taxpayer advocate yesterday and I was finally able to to get some solid answers about what is going on with my return.
It turns out my previous employer has not submitted their w2 to the irs so they are not able to verify my wages until they do. I have to wait for my advocate to call me on Monday to tell me what the next step is.
I had previously been told by an irs rep that I was “randomly selected” for a 60 day review. They even said that there was nothing I needed to do on my end because there was nothing wrong with my return and to just wait.
Filed 1/29
1541 on wmr and 570 on transcript 2/16Has anyone ever had this issue before and would like to tell me more or less the time frame to resolve it?
-
February 22, 2019 at 9:33 am #4294345Tara
@Marigold, yeah on another one of these threads someone said the same thing. He listed off a few dates and his theory is it must be a glitch.
This morning really stings though because I’m seeing ALOT that were in the same basket as us with their updates and DDD on transcripts.
I feel kind of “shamed” because Im not getting my money back and I keep forgetting its MY money!
-
February 22, 2019 at 9:21 am #4294309Meegan
Coworker filed Feb.2, with EIC and child tax, and got her money TODAY. So pissed at the IRS for giving us this runaround when we were so proactive to file either early or on opening day, and none of us knows when our money will hit. :(
-
February 21, 2019 at 11:41 pm #4292818Marigold
Noticing lots of us with 1541 and 45 day reviews were accepted 1/28…🤔wonder if that’s a coincidence
@Tara & @Confused – I am in the same situation, w-2 showed less than last pay stub and I should be getting like $600 more back. I’m kicking myself for not waiting but I have always been impatient and used my last pay stub without a problem. I guess this year it had something to do with my healthcare premiums. I’m still trying to decide if I want to file an amended return or wait to see what happens on 3/4 -
February 21, 2019 at 11:12 pm #4292685Yaimelee
Hi
we are all being told somewhat different but al the same. I’ve read each and every post on this page. I know all of our situations are different but the ones who seem off is the Irs I personally think it’s all just to get more time to process them because it is now for most of us over the 21 days. Even if they say a review 45 days I’m sure it will be much sooner. Today my husband called and they had him on hold for like 20 min and came back to say he was randomly selected for review to check wages but no action needed as well as no letters. I’m assuming when they are auditing they ask for documentation.
Stay positive nothing is impossible for god! He’s in control . His word says if we all pray together as one in accordance with what we are praying for he is there and will do a miracle let’s keep praying and declaring that within these weeks we will see an update to approved.
For those of you having to wait for the letters I will be praying also that it goes quickly and smoothly .
Blessings

I also meant to mention we received our state the first week. So why the irs never got them. I don’t know. I know a lot others my worked these 1099 side jobs so just be aware it could be part the hold for some maybe.

February 21, 2019 at 10:25 pm #4292660Mike mike
I filled me and my wife joint return via TurboTax 1/28 acctepted same day. 2/16 got 1541 take action. Called 19th was told it was a hold due to EITC and ATC credits. She told me it was no errors or letters and just that we been randomly placed under a 45 day review. So I called my local tax advocate due to our hardship. Only to find out the reason for our hold is for some reason the irs never got my 1099s from Amazon or Doordash. Now working with our tax advocate but it’s crazy because it’s my first year filling both. I just advise all if you are experiencing a hardship and really want help in getting your refund this year contact your local irs tax advocate office

Okay guys have a quick question for all of us that have 1541/570 I saw on another forum that someone called in to the irs cause of those codes and were told that if there was a difference in there wages whether it be plus or minus that the irs would fix it themselves. Umm I am very curious if anyone here has been told this seeing I find it alittle odd
-
February 21, 2019 at 9:25 pm #4292496Confused
@Chicagoannie nope only thing I can think is my portion of my health insurance was Pre taxed but that only came to like 900.00 not like a 2k difference its very odd if you ask my opinion
-
February 21, 2019 at 8:39 pm #4292340
Confused…did you have put any money towards a non-taxable benefit, like an FSA? If you put $1000 towards something like that, it’s non-taxable income. So your W2 taxable income would be less than the amount on your last paycheck.
-
February 21, 2019 at 8:31 pm #4292321Tasha
Spoke with a real nice lady, I basically cut to the chase, why am I not updating, what is going on with this code 1541, she basically told me there was nothing wrong with my return and that it is still on the path hold. Not sure if it’s true because I do remember someone on here saying that no longer applied after February 15th date…. She told me I had 6 days so we shall see what happens in 6 days.
-
February 21, 2019 at 8:27 pm #4292306Tasha
On the phone now to ensure that my return is okay as I’m still sitting with that dreadful code! Will update to see what that code means as everyone is still giving different reasons with it being path or under review!
-
February 21, 2019 at 5:19 pm #4291749Tara
@confused, no, at first I was waiting to see if the 1541/570 would resolve itself because I was worried I would set off more issues if they really did overlook. This week I decided to bite the bullet, but I am traveling for work and didnt realize that it had to be snail mailed to them so now I have to wait to get home and send it. I’m still hopeful something will happen tomorrow morning (a miracle maybe?) and Ill get some of my $$$ and the rest in a few months when they process the amended.
I had this happen once before but I actually owed more back, I claimed a depended credit I wasn’t supposed to, but I still got my return on time and then had to pay the overpayment.
-
February 21, 2019 at 5:15 pm #4291735Confused
@Tara have you sent in your amended return yet?
-
February 21, 2019 at 5:14 pm #4291725Confused
@Tara oh I know but you would think they wouldn’t want us to get more money back than what we have already coming from our returns.. Smh you would think they wouldn’t want us to catch it and go ahead and release our funds in hopes we wouldn’t
-
February 21, 2019 at 5:05 pm #4291692Tara
@Confused Same here…job didnt send out until literally Jan 31, last damn day. I overreported my income by $3K, my amended also has a $350 additional return. Sucks that we screwed OURSELVES out of return money yet the IRS wants to hold it all!
-
February 21, 2019 at 4:53 pm #4291657Confused
I have a feeling I know now why mine is being delayed. Finally got my w2 from employer seeing I didn’t have it when I filed I used my last pay stub seeing my w2 was lost in transit more like it was prob mailed after it was suppose to so I went ahead and did my amended return so it’s ready to go and bam my refunded jumped 400.00 so I am due 400 more than what I thought. Only thing I can’t figure is why my w2 shows I made less than my paystub.. Smh

Ok guys,
If you got this message, GET A TAX ADVOCATE. also, DO NOT use the Tax Advocate national line. It’s crap. Call your LOCAL Tax Advocate. You can find the number to your local office HERE: https://taxpayeradvocate.irs.gov/contact-us
They got back to me within 2 days and we already figured out what the issue is. I needed to have my wages verified and they are clearing it up now. In my case, my current employers W2 information hasn’t been entered into the Federal system yet (they had to mail it in, they are kinda in the stone age on that kinda stuff) so it was showing I overreported income and that’s why I had the 1541 and 570 codes. I faxed over what the advocate needed right away and they said my refund should be released in a week or two (everyone is behind due to the shutdown or it would have been sooner).
AGAIN, I IMPLORE you. Get an Advocate! If you don’t, you’ll never find out what your issue is, and the IRS WILL take their sweet time in letting you know what it is and how to fix it.
-
February 21, 2019 at 12:41 pm #4290847Aleisha
I also got the tax msg 1541 and contacted the IRS today 2/21/2019. I spoke to a rep that told me the message is because of Path and that those returns should finish processing by the end of the week but that my return was also in review and that it can take 45 days, which would be 4/11/19 for them to completely process my return and release my funds. They said no letter was sent out

I believe whoever gotten the 971 code with that 1541 code have a letter coming to resolve something. Those that just get the 1541 570, no letters, nothing required probably will update and get their refund by the 27th just my opinion I hope im wrong and everyone get theirs by the 27th. I have the 971 notice issued so a letter is coming!!!!

Just wanted to correct something i said here. The tax advocate said if u are told they you was randomly selected for ctc and eic etc that last Friday those were all lifted and you would of gotten a dd soon after last Friday. He said if you were told you was UNDER REVIEW ( not randomly selected) for those credit it means something else is wrong with your return and discrepancy in you return such as wages etc and its being looked into further. Just wanted to clarify the difference in being told randomly selected and being told under review. The CTC and anything under Path no longer are causing holds as of last Friday so if u are being told this thats false . I hope that clarifys what i said a little better
-
February 21, 2019 at 9:53 am #4290232InTheSameBoat
Ok so like everyone else here i got the 1541 last Saturday. I called monday and was told its just EIC ACTC hold until 27th blah blah blah. Today I called the tax advocate # 877 -777-4778 and spoke to a rep in that office. The gentleman didnt asked my name Yet but He asked if I spoke to anyone else over the 1541 and i said yeah on Monday I called and talked to its agent i was told it was being random reviewed over EIC and ACTC and he said whoever told you that lied or just have no clue of what they are talking about. He said those were all released on last Friday and the 1541 has nothing to do with Path act and this is for issues with wages etc. So anyways he transferred me to another intake agent who looked into my return and seen my employer under reported my earnings by nearly 20k and they submitted a totally different w2 than what they gave me. I told w2 they gave me is exactly what reflects in last pay stub. Anyways tax advocate took my case and said what employer did was fraud . If you ate being told this is a random review on child tax credit etc then someone is lying to you. If you want to see what your employer reported in wages I highly suggest you go to my social security website and make an account and look and see if your 2018 wages reflect what you reported. I know not everyone will have aame issues as mine with the 1541 take Action notce but if you are being toldnits just a random review over tax credits that fall under the path act its false. The path act no longer is in playbaanof last Friday . Call # i left here if you are facing hardship as i am so advocate can help you

Good Morning, I just called and got a sweet lady. She told me that the 1541 is a general Path message for those who filed before the 15th that all refunds should be released on or before the 27th if there are no more issues.
-
February 21, 2019 at 8:00 am #4289729Khenti
After days of trying to get through to the IRS, I finally spoke with an agent. Said agent of course informed me that I was being delayed because I claimed EIC and my account is being reviewed. No letters have been generated for me but it could take up to 45 days…smh.
Yea, sounds pretty robotic to me. Perhaps they’ll be an update on Saturday -
February 21, 2019 at 8:00 am #4289727Dianna
Hey I’m new to post but got the 1541 a few weeks ago I filed early Jan. Anyway did my transcripts online and viewed them and in them it has 2 dates…feb 25th and April 25th. I believe the Feb 27th date to be correct for ddd just from the Feb 25th date.
-
February 20, 2019 at 11:24 pm #4288897Stephen
I have just decided 1541 is a blanket delay code and then you will get the cookie cutter wait 45 days from this date speech!! So pretty much with new tax laws the government shutdown and the path delay they are overloaded and lumped them into one category and how cant get the codes caught up and updated in wmr to let everyone know what’s going on
-
February 20, 2019 at 9:46 pm #4288642Keekee
Filed 1/23.. Still processing and updated to 1541 Feb 16.. Called and agent said its a hold and delay for the ones who didnt get path message which I didn’t. Also was told its not an offset code. Offset code 203. So there’s hope. I asked about the March 4th date and she told me to check wmr Sat
-
February 20, 2019 at 6:55 pm #4287989It’s coming
I’ve even seen post from online articles stating something about early filers getting a DDD the week of the 27th or just flat out DD.
#1 despite 1541 being a code from prior years ,it’s just far way too many of us this year -just think of how many who have received the 1541 and don’t respond on forums #2 If you know that your return is legit and no errors what else could it be but a path hold for some and perhaps a review for others …
***Positive vibes*** -
February 20, 2019 at 6:10 pm #4287875
Plus i m not understanding. ” you may or may not receive a letter in the mail” what does it mean ? 1st one stated everything is fine . then 2nd and 3rd rep says i m under review . are they reviewing this many returns ? Don’t wanna be the doubter here but isn’t it funny that everyone calls and gets the exact same answers. Even the so called date of the 27th for your refund. I mean when I first got the 1541 2 weeks ago they told me I should receive my refund on you guessed it…the 27th. These answers sound like answers programmed for the general question of “1541 take action” Not saying we all have something wrong with our taxes its just kind of skeptical if those guys. I will continue to be until the 27th comes around and I have a DD. Til then👀

I’m in the same boat as you guys . Not sure either but . I filed my own taxes . But the thing is; although state and federal are two different entities,I find it odd that my state has already been approved and dispensed as of 2/7 . I haven’t any offsets . I’ve filed on my own for the last 5 years -never a problem always smooth sailings. I honestly believe that some of us aren’t under a review or audit and that we will see movement soon

February 20, 2019 at 12:42 pm #4286768It’s coming
I filed on 1/29 and accepted same day . Then the one bar with still being processed..then 2/16 the dreaded 1541. I spoke with a total of three different irs agents and a tax advocate . They all gave me the same information .they said that the 1541 is a path hold . To expect a ddd by 2/27 .and there isn’t any letters or audits,45-60 day extensions or reviews for my ssi# everything is fine other than it’s a lot of deposits needing to be made and can’t fit them all in the first or second batch .

Until this day my 1541 status still same. However I spoke to irs lady who researched my account and confirmed the ddd and amount. I did asked when status on wmr will change, she said she was in different dept and didn’t handle those updates.
Keep calling I got through around 6pm or so yesterday. Good luck!

Still the same Take Action on the web and “Your refund is delayed 1541” on WMR app. Really getting annoyed with the situation. Friends who filed after me with the EIC and child tax credit have gotten a DDD of 2/22.
-
February 20, 2019 at 11:13 am #4286427Khenti
So WMR says Take Action, 1541 is gone but every time I call the IRS no one is available to take my call. I tried ordering my transcripts but the system doesn’t recognize my auto loan number. This is so freaking frustrating!

Yaimelee, for 2 weeks i had the take action and code 1541. I only knew I got a 2/22 ddd because I called and had them look at my return. wmr never updated. It still has not updated.

February 19, 2019 at 9:05 pm #4284668Rebecca
So after being on hold for hours I finally got an update on our refund is being delayed. They said it’s because we didn’t file in 2013, I thought only mattered if you owed taxes. We have never owed taxes in the entire 10 years we’ve been together and filed so now I have to file those and they said it could take up to 12 weeks to see my return released. Good luck to the rest of y’all

Well have faith ya’all I don’t think all ya’all is under review there is too many people with the 1541 code to all be reviews. I think they just telling ya’all that to get you to stop calling. I updated to ddd of 2/22 saturday after having 1541 and my deposit hit in my credit union a few minutes ago. Your money is coming guys

So ours still says Take Action 1541, but I called the IRS and finally got through. I was told our refund amount that they show versus what is on our return is different. Way different. But we have no offsets. Does anyone know why this might be? The guy couldn’t tell me anything.

I called this morning due to code 1541 and the 570 code on transcripts. I was told it was due to PATH and that I was also under review. It seems a bit odd that so many people are under review.
-
February 19, 2019 at 4:00 pm #4283461Confused
Just got off the phone with the IRS and at 1st I was told that the 1541 is cause of path I proceeded to ask why my transcript has code 570 he asked me 4 questions to further review my account and he put me on hold for 5-78 minutes and came back and said that my account was randomly selected for review and to allow 45 days from 2/25/2019. I asked if there is anything that I need to do and he explained no just keep checking WMR. I asked if it actually takes 45 days and he said no they say just to allow up to 45 days. I explained that I needed a tax advocate cause of a hardship and he recommended waiting and if goes past the 45 days than get an advocate. The man was very nice and I questioned him again why was I selected none of my info has changed in the past 7 years and he just kept saying its random. Makes me wonder what is really going on.

@Lisa we’re in the exact same boat.
I updated to 1541 on Saturday 2/16 and I called today and that exactly what the lady told me…as I said earlier I think we’ll update sat and get our deposits on the day we’re all supposed to 2/27.
-
February 19, 2019 at 2:47 pm #4283092Lisa
I got update on Friday the 15th ( the actual day tax season opens for people with credits) and it says….theres a delay in your return call us at blah blah and code 1541. I called this morning monday 2/19 and lady said wait 45 from march 4th and they mailed me a letter about the delay. She said there shows no problem at this time its just beacuse of the credits and to Keep checking for updates on wmr app. Every year a bunch of people het picked for this review/delay and this year its us. Doesn’t mean anything wrong its just their checking everything with a fine tooth comb. Its annoying beacuse they don’t give a heads up and thats what freaks us out. The little message we do get is not a good enough answer. They need a better system in place to help people know what is going on with their refund

talked to irs today about code 1541,first lady seem to not know whats going on,called back at 1 to get a 2nd look and he said im under review, starting march 4th it can take 45 days which they said its april 18th,so for shits and laughs i looked at my tax scripts online and it says april 15th,so the the real date from what i can see can be found in the transcript page

I woke up to 1541 2/9/2019 after being on one bar since acceptance on 1/22/2019. I called 2/11 using the number and extension 312. I was told not to worry that nothing was wrong with my return and I should be updating soon, that it was because of eitc and child credits. I did update saturday morning with a ddd of 2/22. So for those of you with this code just hang in there, it was only because of path

The answers people are getting this morning are the same answers a couple weeks ago. I was told wait until the 27th due to the dreaded 1541 path. Just got a feeling 27th gonna come around and then they’ll come with a later date for us to check back on. Plz post on the 27th if any one of us 1541’s see any change. I’m thinking not

Welp, I got nothing! Apparently they’re being swamped with calls (go figure) because “unfortunately all our agents are busy helping others” blah, blah, blah…Guess I’ll just wait it out and see if anything happens between now an the 27th. I’m pretty much over it at this point. Pissed! But over it.

In support of our friend @redacted B, I have went out and bought several bottles of lube. I have KY for him, KY for her, and for the older crowd, I have good old fashioned petroleum jelly. For anyone who is offended by the mention of the lube, don’t worry, there is plenty of it so once you get out of the crying closet or get finished melting (snowflakes), or what ever, just come in back and get yourself a big greasy handful and lube up because this is a good old fashioned group screw and we want everyone to be included!

Filed 2/24, accepted 2/28, take action screen appeared this past Saturday.
I just spoke with a rep at the IRS. He told me that most people with 1541 right now got that message because they never got the path message. Because of the glitch with the path message they updated us to the hold code to let us know that our refunds are being delayed. He saw no letters or anything bad for me. Apparently the majority of us just got stuck in some type of loop with the path thing. He said reviews are 151 appeal your rights but if they do not see anything on your account and cannot find an answer they are told to tell you that your account has been selected. It is only a coincidence that some accounts do end up being reviewed, audited or owe an offset. So we will see what happens this week. He says lots of movement will happen.

I called this morning and they advised I have been selected for further review and can take up to 45 days. It’s the first time this has ever happened to me and I file the same way with the same person for years now. They said they need more time To verify the credits and withholdings.
Will keep checking wmr & will update if something changes !

Per irs.gov website…By law, the IRS cannot release tax refunds for Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit related tax returns before mid-February. “Where’s My Refund?” will be updated by Feb. 23 for most early filers who claimed the EITC or ACTC. These taxpayers will not see a refund date on “Where’s My Refund?” or through their software packages until then. The earliest EITC and ACTC related refunds should be available in taxpayer bank accounts and debit cards starting Feb. 27, if taxpayers used direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax returns.. something i read, dont hold me to it but figured id share it,have a lubby day!!!ill update when i call

@Granny,
I’m sorry you feel that way. I do actually hold 2 full time jobs being a single dad. I don’t honestly care whether you or anyone finds the lube comments amusing. They actually aren’t intended to be. It’s sad that I or anyone should have to compare the IRS to getting rammed in the ass. But that’s how I feel anymore at tax time.
I don’t honestly “think” I’m the authority of the 1541 topic. I’ve researched it for hours on the internet (at my other job actually) and have read of folks past experiences on here, along with my own past experience on here last year to where I can hopefully not only better understand the situation myself, but help others along the way.
But I do thank you, for your wisdom, concerns for me and my employment and my fascination with lube and the fact others don’t find it entertaining, when it’s not meant to be.
You have a great night granny and I wish you nothing but the best tax season!

@redacted,
Do you keep making the lube comment because no one is responding to it, ignoring your comment. I know you feel you are the authority on any 1541 topic, then contribute something meaningful to the conversation. I haven’t seen one person laugh since you made your first lube joke last week, it’s hard to imagine that you hold a job considering your in every chat day or night, talking about lube. Good luck to everyone and hopefully we find ourselves answers this week. -

So like the hundreds of people on here I got the 1541 code on the 8th of February. I filed January 4th accepted the 22nd. I called the irs and gave then the reference code and the rep said its a delay in processing because we have the child tax credit. Im like okay makes since. So I call the 15th since the rep said to check back then because that’s when they start processing.. i had to argue with the rep to even look and see what was going on. She then tells me I’m under review for identity theft… I then freak out. She said I have to wait for a letter then call back. This is absolutely b.s. I get a different reason for the 1541 code every time I call and no one will give me a straight answer. I will be calling the tax advocate on Tuesday. All they have to do is look at previous years and see I claimed the same dependants before. So nerve wracking. Anyone else have them tell them identy theft? .

@KDUECE last year they told us we had to prove identity after multiple conversations with irs on phone an they could not tell us the issue till the middle of the year we were funky able to get an appointment at the irs building and took our identification forms as well as our taxes they were able to process them Finley and 12 weeks later they sent us a check it came in check due to our card info changing and they could not update it last year was HELL and we were told this year we should not have the same problem as we did last year by the irs guy at the office

I filed on the 30th with Turbotax and got accepted the same day. I got the Take Action message with the 1541 reference code on the 16th. I’ve been filing the same way with the same two children for the past seven years and never had this happen. I plan on calling the IRS tomorrow but I doubt I’ll be able to get through based on all the people who have gotten this message. Maybe it’s really just a generic code for everyone with the EIC/ACTC.

So I filed January 29 was accepted the same day and woke up Saturday to the 1541 “ Take Action “ code and now I don’t know what to do. I file the same each year. Only thing that’s different is I changed jobs and had to file 8880 form which I don’t even know what that is. Just now I’m extremely worried. Does anyone have info on how long this usually takes to clear up and get their money. Thank for any info.

I filed on 1/23 was accepted on 1/24 from then untill yesterday it simply said I was being processed. Now I’m getting a 154w code that says my return has been delayed on WMR online. If I go to my it’s.gov app it just says my return has been delayed. I did file head of household…and I got the eitc and additional child tax credit.

February 18, 2019 at 12:18 am #4277356Michelle Shaw
Filed on the 23rd my return was accepted on the 24th . From then till yesterday my status so said being processed as of last night I got a 1541 code that says my refund has been delayed. I am pissed. Spent 500 with H&R Block for efile and I know nothing.
-
February 17, 2019 at 11:30 pm #4277292allies3
So we filed 1/22, got accepted 1/23. Sat on the first bar only WMR until last week, then updated to TAKE ACTION, code 1541. Both my wife and I called the IRS on 2/14, and one representative told my wife she couldn’t discuss anything until 2/19, and the other rep just kept repeating the processing dates for EITC. So we have no idea what to think. We had a baby this past year so we added a dependent, but everything we filed was pretty straightforward so we don’t know what could possibly be wrong. We haven’t received a letter as of yet, either.
-
February 17, 2019 at 9:31 pm #4277151Kathy
got the 1541 “Take Action ” this morning. Contacted Turbo Tax and they said that there isn’t nothing wrong with my taxes just that is a generic code for the Delay IRS. I have never had any problems and now this shit. It seems to me that a lot of people that filed on 1/28/19 are getting this code. Makes me wonder if we have a lazy ass at IRS that just wanted to scare the shit out of people for the holiday weekend.

On 2/15 I got the dreaded 1541 message on where’s my refund app. I called the number and the rep said it was flagged for review but he seemed clueless and said it would be up to a 45 day delay. Sounds to me like a stall tactic since they are behind because of the shutdown. I’m not gonna worry about it since I did the right thing.
-

Punished in correct. The bracket of EITC and ACTC are the bracket that has usually multiple children to take care of and earned income means we didn’t make shit for money in order to get credit at all. They punish this bracket.

Man I feel ya. Like I said
D, I feel like I’m being punished for my tax bracket and having a child. I’ve never had issues claiming my it her two, even when I added them to my taxes as children. I have diligently filed my taxes on time and verified everything and corrected anything caught by taxact. This year just feel so off.. and has me worried because I will have another child to add to this year’s taxes in 2020… So am I going to go through this same shit again?! I fkin hope not. -

So, don’t know if this info is 100 or not but the Liberty guy who did my taxes said that anyone who filed before opening day with EIC got stuck due to a system error and that we will be resequenced once they allow Path release and the 1541 is just a delay message. I pray this is accurate info I know I didn’t update last night and I a weekly so it makes me so nervous.

Filed w/o permission 1/8/19( long story)
Accepted 1/10/19
Delayed return message no codes 2/8/19
I called as. soon as I got it I spoke with a nice young lady she told me it was a generic message and I had nothing to worry about. 2/8/19
I called 2/15 and spoke with two different reps. 1st one told me I was under review and that my return had been pulled but gave a date of Feb 25th and told me to count 45 days from that date if I have not received anything.
2nd one told me I had nothing to worry about please allow them to continue to process the return and if I have EIC OR ACTC please allow two more weeks. Never went through this Im kinda nervous. -

So I updated to 1541 😩 There seem to be so many reasons why you would could be getting this code. My best advice is to call the IRS on Tuesday! Monday is President Day 😒 Speak with a Competent TA and hopefully you get them what they need if anything. I was accepted 1/29. And got an update to take Action 2/16/19. I will try to keep everyone updated on this because I understand the aggravation! PS I heard a lot of people did not get their money until mid to late year due to this. Just keep calling and making sure everything you’re doing on your end is correct! Who cares if you have to call them 1 million times, it’s their Flippin job!

If you mean you tracked your return with the IRS Where’s My Refund tool and saw the 1541 response:
1541 is an an internal code that the IRS uses to identify returns that have been “Delayed”. The doesn’t mean there is something wrong with your return, it could simply be that the IRS has an overflow of returns at this time and is behind schedule on issue refunds. There are different reasons accounting for the 1541 reference number.
If you claimed the EIC or the child tax credit then those returns will not start to be processed until after the 15th of February due to PATH Act regulations.
You can also contact the IRS directly mention the reference the code 1541 to them.

This is what I found on its codes and meaningss from the its tax manual for 1541 ref. I hope this eases minds since its a lot of dooms dayers on here.
C- Freeze – Refund Holds
The Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act of 2015 (the PATH Act), was enacted on December 18, 2015. The PATH Act contains several changes to the tax law that affect individuals, families, and businesses, and help safeguard against tax fraud. The PATH Act mandates that the IRS not issue any refund on tax returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until February 15th.
All current year tax returns that claim EITC and/or ACTC filed before February 15th, will contain a C- freeze on the account, to hold the refund.
Prior to February 15th, the refund cannot be released:
by inputting any type of adjustment to the account
due to a hardship (hardships will not be considered as long as the C- freeze is on the account). This includes the part of the refund that is not associated with the EITC or ACTC.
The C- freezes will be systemically released on February 15th. Refer to IRM 21.4.1.4, Refund Inquiry Response Procedures, and IRM 21.4.1.4.2, Return/Refund Located, for additional information. -

I would recommend to all of you a tax payer advocate. Not to be in anyone’s business but if your facing eviction notices, disconnect notices for utilities then that actually helps your case with the tax payer advocate. Last year some people didn’t get their cases looked at or resolved until the later parts of the summer. I being one of them who didn’t get a return until August. Talk to an advocate, start a case asap so you can get your return! God bless

570 most likely means a freeze per day due to the path credits.
It looks like you are a weekly so you will update usually on Thursdays (that’s what the 05 means). Based on the cycle code you posted your return started processing around the 7th.
Sorry if there are duplicate posts. Website doesn’t seem to be posting my comments.

I printed my transcript just now but I see no hold codes on it (although I might not be looking at it correctly, this is new to me). I don’t have any offsets, but I do claim EIC and child tax credit. I see Feb. 25 on this transcript all over it, and i have a cycle of 20190605 and a processing date of 2/25/2019. I’m hoping it’s a PATH issue and funds will be released soon…

I did find this online on a website that has the WMR codes listed so you know what each one means. Anyone have offsets that has the 1541 code?
1541 – Offset Overflow freeze set when offset storage within IDRS is not large enough to hold all generated transactions, or credit balance has been completely offset and two or more debit modules still exist
Here’s the link:

Have you looked at your transcripts? If they are available online and you see a hold code then you should call. It sounds like the 1541 code is not necessarily bad. It just depends on your tax situation. Look at your transcripts to see if there are any worrisome codes

Woke up to the Take Action 1541 message. Filed and accepted 1/15/19, transmitted 1/28. Was in the “there is no info about your return” status for 2 weeks now the “Take Action” status. UPDATE. No concerns over code 1541. Spoke to IRS just now and it is genetic. It doesn’t mean anything is wrong with the refund and that texhnically speaking Tuesday the 19th is 21 days from tax season opening. Expect an update within the next week. IGNORE 1541.

-
February 11, 2019 at 9:19 am #4265111
Gianna’s mom sorry that is just not true! They are telling y’all that to get y’all off the phone. The path hold is the path message that you will update to from one bar. There is a c freeze that holds for the path not a code. The codes y’all are seeing are codes for issues with returns.
-
February 11, 2019 at 9:19 am #4265109GiannasMom
The agent said it is a glitch in the system for people claiming the credits that everything is fine and to keep checking and to expect a refund by the end of February my reforms already visible I would not worry at all if you claim the credits if you do not claim the credit I would probably call there is no wait time at all right now just thought I’d update you guys I’m sure I’ll be body’s been worried as me

I filed 1/18. Accepted 1/22 W/ HRB. I have always been path. I have been reviewed before and have had offsets, neither apply this year but have in the past and have never received this 1541 message. My transcripts are not available online and I did not bother ordering them through the mail. I am hoping that this is due to the path delay and I believe that to be the case but I do not know for sure yet. All we can really do is wait and see. According to the IRS website, that is entirely possible but there are several reasons that it could be used for and path is only one. If anyone speaks to an IRS agent specifically about this code today, please update us on what you are told bit unti then, I suggest that everyone just stay calm and see what happens.

Just regular PATH message so u dont think it applies to everyone with that situation. I filed 01/17 Accepted 1/22.
I dont expect Fed to hit for another few weeks.
Saw this forum topic and peeked through comments as someone also has tye same issue in another thread that I am in… -

I think the 1541 is just a generic message that some of us are getting.
I filed 1/17 and accepted 1/22 have both credits. Stayed on TT 152 until 2/9 when I updated to 1541, but I also checked my transcripts on 2/9 they were finally available with processing date of 2/25 and cycle code 20190605. I looked on this forum at the posting about cycle codes and my code corresponds with the date of 2/11 but seeing I have credits it’s being delayed cause of path -

@sarah
Sorry if we take the word of known tax websites information on it and not yours. Could be possible, just taking a guess here… That maybe it is and the IRS didn’t on with you? I’m not trying to be mean, but I’m just saying you might not KNOW as much as you think you do. None of us do though :) -

I don’t know why everyone is saying the 570/1541 is bc of PATH. I’ve never had any codes. Been PATHer since 2016 tax year. I have 4 kids, my oldest being almost 12. If it was from PATH I’ve would have had it.

Supposedly from multiple people I’ve spoke to, on the 15th it will change and the freeze will stop. It’s a generic message that people are getting because they are backed up. Only the people with eic anc children are getting this message. The irs seems to hold the money for people that don’t make much money and have children longer than the rest of the country.

TT 1541 can mean different things for different filers. It is a generic code! More than likely if a lot of people have it, its because the IRS is behind on returns this year. Esp if you were accepted in any of the test batches before official opening day, you were probably re sequenced. Just look at your transcripts for the real updates…
