If you got a child tax credit is there a delay like last year???
Same for me, never qualified for ACTC before. I filed and accepted 1/15 no updates, decided to go through my return for accuracy to see if I could find the delay, and there it was. I qualified for the additional child tax credit this year. $72, I would rather skip it and avoid the delay. However, TurboTax and TaxACT said that they automatically include the credit if you qualify for it :(
I’m now hearing because things changed with CTC that even though we may have ACTC, we can get delayed with CTC. I’m guessing that’s why I got PATH message this year.
@jennifer I would double check your return. I got updated to Path, because of the new tax where the ctc is now doubled and I didn’t qualify for the whole amount so they added the ACTC of a big whooping $37.
I’m confused. I do not qualify for ACTC or EIC. Did not qualify last year either ( double checked my return ). I have had CTC both years. However last year, I updated to PATH and have had to wait until after the 15th. I have a small credit for child care expenses, but that’s all. Does that mean I’m gonna get hit with PATH again? I know
@Kellllllllllllll No delay for CTC (Child Tax Credit), just ACTC (Additional Child Tax Credit) and EIC (Earned Income Credit).
@Maya You got lucky! Congrats! I slipped through last year, but not this year lol.
@Maya
U must of sneaked by or something like that to
I have the EIC and I filed on 01/27, accepted 01/28, and just got a DDD of 02/06 this morning.
Yes they are doing the PATH supposedly so those that claimed the EIC and ACTC won’t be processed until after February 14 and days you will have a deposit by February 28
