If I owe a balance…

If I owe a 1700$ balance to IRS for back taxes,will I still get the rest of my refund of what’s left of my refund 6,522$?and does it delay my refund?or if approved they just automatically take it out?

  Hello! I was accepted on 1/19 I used TaxAct.
  
  WMR says pending today but my transcript updated today 1/27!
  
  I have a bal of 3700. My refund is 4700. Transcript of account says my DD is 2/1 and of course they are keeping the 3700. Sigh.
  
  It didnt cause a delay though.

  I owed $500 last year from previous year it didn’t delay it they just took it out then sent the rest as scheduled
