Identity Theft Verification

I filed 1/23, bars disappeared 2/4 generic processing message, no tax topic. I didn’t receive any letters in the mail. Called and spoke with a rep today and was told I was flagged for Identity theft. She told me I could not do it over the phone, and had to go in to the local office. Has anyone been through this before?

DAMN. i just called, filed and accepted 1/24 apparently got flagged too. ughh!! they’re sending me the letter. i’m praying to god I get my ddd before the second week of march. so frustrating :(

I just id verified today and they told me they had to send me a paper check instead of DDD. also they said it could take up to 9 weeks to get my return!!!

@ jamie , I was flagged for Identification Verification as well. I did get a IRS 4883C letter in the mail. I was instructed to call the number listed on the letter and verify (correctly of course). I was told at that time that it would take 9wks to complete processing of my return. I was hoping that was not true and it wasn’t. I do have a ddd of 2/15. Below is my timeline :

Filed 1/23
Accepted 1/23
Bars disappeared 1/27
Letter Arrived 2/6
Verified 2/7
DDD 2/15

i’m having the same thing. They told me if I don’t get a letter in the mail by Wednesday to call back and have them re-send it and wait another 3 weeks!
