Identity Being Reviewed

Hey, everyone. I completed my taxes on the 16th, then on the 18th I received a text from TT saying my return was accepted in 1/18. Just a day later WMR updated and it said they received my return and it is processing. So, I’ve just been patient and assumed maybe I was accepted into the test batch, which doesn’t effect me much bc I have to wait for mid Feb regardless bc I receive both EITC and CTC, so Saturday I checked WMR and it now says something about to protect me from identity theft my return is being reviewed. So, I made a new account through ID.me on the IRS website to check if any letters have been sent and to check my transcripts. We’ll, my transcripts haven’t updated, it is saying that 2023 taxes aren’t processed yet, and no letters have been sent from the IRS. I even called the IRS and they wouldn’t pull my account up, but told me if I can’t verify my previous years returns then there is nothing for me to do but wait for it to process and they just started accepting on the 29th, so I just have to wait and ignore what WMR says. Anyone heard of this or dealt with tjis? Any help will be great!!! TIA!!!

UPDATE 2/16: So, oddly enough I guess I don’t have to verify anything any further!!! Although WMR said IRS was reviewing my return and that they want to protect my identity and so on, my transcript updated today to code 846 refund issued 2/22. Very odd, but I won’t question it! I hope this happens to many more people, so they don’t have to wait!

I personally have had no change. I am still waiting on the letter. I have made an ID.me account, but they won’t let me further verify until I have the letter and the control number on the letter. I can’t even make an appointment at a local IRS office because I work 9 to 5 Mon-Sat, and don’t have the luxury to miss any days! I was accepted by IRS on 1/18 and WMR started updating the next day. On 1/27 the identity info came up on WMR, and still no letter!

Hey same boat. Nice irs agent scheduled me an appointment with my local irs office to verify. My appointment is on tomorrow. Will come back with an update.
