I I’d verify this morning consisted of 6 questions which I answered correctly told me she was able to verify me and had to put me hold to put my return back into processing came back and said your return is all set and placed to processing and it can take UP TO 9 weeks I asked her if there’s anything I can do to make it go faster she said no it doesn’t mean it will take that long that’s what I have to tell you for guidelines. Ask her what was the reason of if verified if nothing had changed said very generic response we just needed to verify it was really u… hope is quick😫

Did you guys have a special code on the letter they ask for because im thinking about just calling , so they can verify me. Spoke this morning said I had to verify Identity.

Is there a way to tell from WMR if you have to go through ID verification. Does tax topic change? Right now I’m still at waiting to be processed message with tax topic 152. Please help I can’t call and find out because my newborn is fussy today.

just went through id verification today. The person on the line was pretty sweet. she just asked me what was on my 2016 and 2017 returns. i received the letter on 2/17 dated from 2/14

Just went to ID verify at irs office. Guy said these are not random. Something got flagged for a reason. I had 3 types government ID wth me. He asked how many w-2 I had and I told him. He also wanted to verify how they were getting me the refund. Which direct deposit. I got the infamous 9 week words. He says it still has to be processed. But expect update soon. Any other communication would be by mail. He said WMR may not ever update. So be looking out for money. Lol!

Did they ask for a letter? they asked me and i never got letters the past 2 years, anyways is there a way around having the letter first?

My questions were very brief just like @Michigangr about 6-10 questions in total some related to my 2016 return mothers full maiden name, Total AGI Refund Amount . Very quick and painless to say the least I just don’t understand how it would go up to 9 weeks when processing should only take 21 days .

Would you mind telling me what kind of questions they ask? I’m having to ID verify (told so by the IRS) so I’m just waiting for my letter and want to be as prepared as possible.

I received ID Verify Letter 2/13
(I claimed no credits at all)
Successfully ID Verified on Phone 2/13
Was told that everything went great and will be put back into processing
Didn’t see any movement on big update day 2/17
WMR still shows “Your Return is still being Processed”
No tax topic
Called today because people usually receive it within two weeks after verifying
Was told today everything went fine and that the ID verification I took was successful and that it’s just a waiting game now. So hopefully we’ll see and update by this weekend . Would be a great surprise if our refund just appeared in our accounts, but that’s wishful thinking lol. -
