This is for all whom had to ID verify and have successfully passed. This will help us to determine how long it will take to get our money after successfully verifying with the IRS based on your 5071C letter.Please state if you verified by phone, walking, or online. Went to check WMR randomly and now it says my information doesn’t match. Oh lord.
Any ideas why that would happen now?
Transcripts remain the same with info.

Yeah I can see them online. I saw a notification today (as an FYI to all), that the IRS is not taking any calls unless you have a direct number and extension and they’re not processing any mail order transcripts until further notice.

Update: as of this morning I can access my account and return transcripts. Hopefully, I’ll soon be off this island.

@thesachafromla, as long as your return is correct, having to IDV is just an annoying delay, and you should get your refund within 2-3 weeks after passing IDV. I suspect you’ll get a DD by 4/8.

Just hung up with the TA that I requested and she told me that they closed my account on 3/24 and to allow 2 weeks for them to send my refund. 😒

Called IRS on 3/13 if there were any issues; was told a 5071C was sent out to me

Hello everyone
I filled on 2/22/20 was accepted on 2/23
Bars disappeared with message we have recieved ur tax return and it’s still being processed. A refund date will be available
On 3/16 got letter idv
ID verfied on 3/18
On 3/22 message changed from still being processed to being processed.
Today 3/28 woke up to bar ls refund sent
DDD April 1
Payment will in account no later than the 6th

You ID verified a week after us so I would say one more week and you get your DDD. Just stay positive and hopeful you’ll get it

@ProudFatherOF1, I wouldn’t worry about that. Even after I IDV’ed, I still had to use my former address to apply for my tax account and had to have my PIN sent there. (Fortunately for me, there’s still family living at my former address, so I could have them send the PIN to me at my current address.)
Once they process your return, your address should update. They DID send the 5071C letter to the address on the return.

I haven’t heard of anybody waiting longer than a few weeks after being ID verified unless they got another letter on the way. We SHOULD be getting an update this Saturday … if we don’t then im going to go ape shit. Please update this thread with your transcript on Friday so we know if it’s happening or not.

I so tired of checking I finally sentnsomething to congress. I verified 3/9. Maybe next week. SmhJesse got DDD in 20 days starting 3/2/20, so by next Saturday it will be 20 days for us that verified 3/9/20. If we don’t see something by next Saturday we got fucked over.

Got IDV letter and verified on 3/10.
WMR updated 3/12No updated status since then. Im tired of waiting and being disappointed everyday. Hope to see movement sometime this week.

Everyone isn’t weekly. For those who are daily transcripts update on Tuesday and WMR on Wednesday. Check then, if you don’t know for certain that you’re weekly.
For those of you with TC 570, there may be some hold that’s not IDV. I had to IDV, but I did not have TCs 570 or 971 on my transcript.

No update for me since Thursday the 12th. Another lady who’s just like me filed same day updated with DD 3/18. I IDC early morning on phone 3/9. Lady put me back in processing on the phone no other update not sure why I wasn’t in the 3/18 batch I was so sure.
It’s been just little over a full week for us since we verified. I’m not gonna freak us just yet lol

@Kiamy, it sounds like you might have some other hold-up beyond needing to IDV. Since they don’t even look at returns until after IDVing (so I suppose), then it’s not until then that they may discover other errors or unreported wages, or whatever. It’s been more than 21 days, so you can call them; maybe one of them will give you something other than “wait until April 27”!

Also, just as a reminder, I IDV’ed 2/27, which was a Thursday. It was after 6 p.m. EST. That’s why I had to wait a week to be processed. If I’d gotten the letter one day earlier, I might have been in the 20200905 cycle and gotten my DD 3/4.

I finally got to see my transcripts. Very basic transaction codes: 150, 806, 768, 846. There’s no 570 or 571 or 971. That suggests that needing to IDV doesn’t put a 570 freeze on your return.
My cycle code was 20201005. According to the calendar on RefundTalk, that means that BEGAN processing my return on 3/5. That was more than a month after they accepted my return. I believe that, if they flag your return for IDV, they don’t even BEGIN processing it until after you IDV. That’s because, I figure, they suspect it’s an attempt at fraud until your successfully IDV.

So what happens if you are unable to talk with anyone and you go past your 30 days on your 5071C letter , Identity verification, what happens to the tax return you submitted?
@Brick, the letter says, “If we don’t hear from you…, we may not be able to process your return….” It will just dangle in limbo, I guess. You would probably have to contact a TA, because “you’ve tried but haven’t been able to resolve your problem with the IRS.”

It was one week ago that my WMR message updated from “waiting to be processed” (what it should say, instead of “still being processed”) to “being processed” following IDVing 7 days earlier. Hopefully that means those of you who are seeing that update today will get a DDD of 3/18 this Saturday.

Tried making an account on ssa.gov but it said wrong information weeks ago even though it was correct information so gave up. Tried it yesterday and it went through but still wouldn’t allow me to go through the whole registration so I just said fuck it.

UPDATE: Just like Mimi my WMR updated today to saying being processed instead of saying “Still being processed”. The first update ive seen on WMR since around 2/16/20. Just an updated message brings me hope.

I wouldnt always count on 2 weeks with id verify, i did on 2/18, and it was successful by phone, went from still processing to being processed 2 days later, called said only i had was id verify and to wait 9 weeks then got a 4464c letter on 3/9 saying under 60 day review
For most people it’s a reasonable time frame to see any type of update but yes there is always a possibility could take a lot longer. Just trying to stay positive about the situation

TurboTax has been very good for me the past few years but this year woke me up. I’m definitely NEVER using it again.

They’re only asking for the money that you owe for having to use premium services (which supposedly I had to this year because of Healthcare related stuff). So, it’s only like 80 bucks. Still, the whole idea of it being taken out of my refund was because I didn’t want it to be taken out of the money I had in my account. Now, I’m just thinking like “What’s the point”?😂😂😂

I also got an email from Turbo Tax saying they are going to deduct money out of my bank account because IRS hasnt processed my return yet.
But is that because you used premium services for TurboTax? I can’t imagine people who did it for free and paid them $0 is going to get money taking away from the refund.

Yeah. I’d assume they have permission to, since you’re giving them permission to deposit money into your account as well (once the IRS sends your refund).
Well, I’ve learned at the very least, that if I do use Turbo Tax next year, just pay for the tax services up front. I’ve never had any problems with my tax refund before, and that’s the only difference I can think of compared to other years. -

Did you use free edition for TurboTax or did you buy some type of premium for it. Are they talking about taking the whole refund out of your bank because that seems impossible for them to do that honestly.

@jcc2011, how can TurboTax “take” money from you. I mean, they can send you a bill, but they can’t just go into your bank account and take it, can they? When you provide your account information, do you imply consent for them, not just the U.S. government, to access it? (I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if it were somewhere in the contract’s fine print that most people just skim over, if they even read it at all.)

When ddddd says, “uploaded W2 information,” he/she may mean “imported.” Nowadays W2s are coming with import codes that you can enter into tax-prep software so that it can retrieve the information from the government for you.

Filed 1/21 accepted 1/22 PATH filer. Was advised I needed to verify my identity I’d verified 2/28 at my local IRS office , WMR went from your tax return is still being processed blah blah blah to processing on 3/4 as of today no change in WMR no access to Transcripts. Called and was told processing starts the day of I.d verify. So basically I’m a week in the process.

Can anyone tell me what information you need from the 5071C letter to call and verify. Any chance it can be done without the letter in hand? I am waiting on mailbox to be rekeyed and want to get this done asap!
There is a code in the letter you need to give them when you call or do it online, you CANNOT ID verify without the letter. As for what you need it’s simple, just your W-2 for 2019 and 2018

Wed 3/11 DDD.So, approximately 7 days to process return after IDV (but maybe if the letter had come a day or two earlier, I would have been pushed up a week) and 13 days for DD.

No update or letters for awhile so I called on 2/26/20 and was told I most likely need to ID verify
3/7/20 I received my ID verify letter which was dated 3/2/20
