Okay so based off of my situation alone (that I’ve also seen others in as well) I have a small idea of what happens after you ID Verify. I moved this past year and filed my taxes with my new address. I filed on 2/1 single return, no dependents, or credits and on 2/8 went to STILL processing. I received letter 5071C on February 22nd and verified on February 24th. Updated from STILL to just being processed on that Thursday morning the 27th. I ordered transcripts on the 28th and got them on this past Saturday 3/7 and it still said no return filed and dated 2/29 issue date. I saw other people who verified the same day as I did and had a DDD for 3/6 that same Saturday and then again this past Saturday with 3/11 but mine hasn’t updated yet. So, with all that being said, I figured because one of the very 1st things that the system does when processing your return is to check the social, birthdate and ADDRESS before anything else. My theory is those who have moved and got the 5071C letter then the day you verify is the day you actually start processing. For those who didn’t move but got flagged for some other reason LATER on in your processing, then after you verify you pickup where you left off and finish processing. So, for those who already got a date the same week I filed either they are daily accounts or they had codes on their transcript and their verification hold was for something that didn’t stop the actual processing of the return beforehand (i.e. verification hold). Just a theory. There has to be some method to the madness. I refuse to believe it’s just a bunch of mishaps on the IRS’ part. Glitches and such, okay yeah but not just complete foolery. I am on 2 weeks of waiting after ID verify so I hope something happens this week. God ess and good luck to you all as well.

@ddddd yeah that sounds about right. Like you said, given the only reason for the hold up is the ID Verify.

My theory is 2 weeks after you ID Verify. So if you Id verify this week 3/9-3/13, your DDD will be week of 3/23. This is assuming the ID verify is the only thing holding up your return. I ID verified by phone 3/2, so my DDD should be week of 3/16. My transcripts update on Fridays, WMR on Saturdays, so we’ll see.

How did you verify if you don’t mind me asking online or by phone? The moving part you actually may be on to something because my address was different this year as well.

I moved from a different state AND filed for the first time since 2016, and my DDD is 13 days after my IDV date.

I did my IDV on a Thursday evening (3 days after you did); transcripts (with a weekly cycle) update on Fridays, so I guessing the Master File for that cycle is done the prior day, probably before afternoon. That suggests I couldn’t have gotten in on the DDD of the previous week. I don’t know why you haven’t gotten a DDD yet, but I don’t think your theory adds up.

I’ve seen where some filer’s WMR didn’t update until after they’d gotten their DD, so you might want to check your account on 3/11 even w/o a DDD.

                    CORRECTION: (i.e. address change)
