ID VERIFY at local office

Have an appt. Tuesday at my local office for an ID verification. Anyone have any insight on what I should expect!!

I went to my appt. yesterday to verify my ID. Man asked for 2016 tax return, W-2 and ID. After 10 minutes of him typing something into the computer, I was all set. It was easier going into the office than calling to verify.

Regarding anyone who needs to visit their local IRS office for ID verify.
Here’s what happen to me today

I got a Letter 5747C on Saturday 2/18 – Dated 2/17 for ID Verity at a local IRS Office. I called 844-545-5640 and I was able to set up an appointment for Tuesday 2/21 at 3:30PM

Got to the office 30 minutes before my appointment but they where able to help me out right away because it wasn’t busy.

They ask for two forms of Identifications ( I provided my Drivers License and social security card. I also had my passport just in case ) and ask if I filed my taxes for 2016 and if so do I have it. I had handed it over and the woman that helped took a look at it. Typed some things up on her computer and after a few minutes she said she was able to verify my income and my tax return is valid and not fraud. She said it would take nine weeks to process but from what I read it should be much quicker.

Probably just want to see your driver license. I would also bring a utility bill with your current address on it and your ss card as well.

I tried to verify over the phone, but I answered one question wrong so now I have to go into the office. I’m a little nervous since I already failed the phone verification process. Not sure if questions will be asked since I am sitting right in front of them with all of my paperwork.

I received a 4883c identity verification letter yesterday. So last night I called to verify my information and was told I needed to make an appointment to also verify at the local office. I was confused because I get a IP pin# every year. This morning I called again but this time the rep took all my information then thank me for verifying and she will reverse my return (continue the process) and was given a 9 weeks or less for a DD

Not sure but assume its like going to the bmv have all your forms of id ready and be prepared to answer a unspecified amount of questions about relatives birthdays, old adresses/current adresses, birthdate general stuff its best to call them and ask as well to make sure your fully prepared
