I AM SO LIVID!! Today marks my 21st day, the lady looked me up and put me on hold twice or like 5 minutes. She came back and said “did you receive a letter” and I said no. She said I’m sending you a letter to ID verify. What??? Are you kidding me? So now I have to wait up to 14 days to get the letter and then it could take up to 8 weeks apparently to get my funds.OMG

Has anyone had to ID verify? Please tell me your story, how long did it take you to get a ddd? I am so frustrated. I was looking forward to MY MONEY for my trip the third week of March. Praying I have MY MONEY by that time.

Please tell me your stories. I hope it doesn’t take that long :(

so let me lay this down for you, when the IRS system sees you accessing the transcripts and non-stop call ins about the same account they may flag you as suspect for ID fraud, also depending on if you confirmed your DL and other information with your tax agent. if you chose to skip this info or your agent did not ask you to pre ID verify and you hound these people over your refund, they may flag you.

they said they are mailing me a check on 2/27 I wonder how long it will take to receive in the mail

@sheila…. I think we are in the same exact situation. I will keep you posted and please keep me posted as well. I am hoping this does not take another month. I am building a new house and need the money to take care of some things I need to credit wise to close in May. I filed on the 23rd and was accepted that day. I have not changed anything from last year and my tax return is totally legit. They told me the same thing about the letter. I am praying this does not take any longer than March 15th. @Kwilli okay so my 22nd day was wednesday. I called them and they just pulled it out of their ass that I needed to ID verify. She apparently sent the letter out that same day. I called the ID verify line yesterday and verified all my info correctly til the lady go to the end and asked me for the control number. i told her i spilled coffee on the whole paper and couldn’t see it. that didn’t work. i highly doubt it takes 2 weeks for the letter to get there. it doesn’t take mail 2 weeks tbh. i’ve seen people get there’s in a few days (mail time) i’m praying i get the letter at least by saturday, no later than tuesday? then i’ll call back and give them the number. i’ve seen several people say they updated to approved and got a ddd about a week after. i sure hope that’s the case because i need the money for a trip next month. good luck :)

How long did it take to get letter to id verify? I have called irs and they said I will be getting a letter and I have also called the id verify line and they will not even talk to me without a letter bc they say there is code on the letter for them to identify the letter. I am purchasing a new home and need the money asap. How long once you verify do you get your refund direct deposited??

i had to last year have to this year too, but last year i could over the phone this year they need me to make an appt for 10 days from now…. i filed the 26th F ** the IRS this year

Also you don’t need to wait for the letter.. Just use the number listed in contacts on this site. When they ask if you got a letter just tell them yeah.. the letter doesn’t have special info. It’s just the number to call and what you’ll need. Just have last year’s tax info on hand.

Last year I also had to ID verify and I revived my deposit a week later after I answered all questions and passed.
