Been watching the site for some weeks now and thought I’d share my experience so far this tax season.

      E-Filed (TT)- 2/3
      Accepted- 2/3
      No WMR Update
      Transcripts NA
      No fees
      Turbo card

Received letter 5071C from IRS (ID verification) on 2/24 with a date of 2/21. Called the number listed within the letter to verify my ID and after a 32 minute hold time I was able to speak to a rep and was verified in less than 15 minutes. Was told by rep that the authentication/verification went over smoothly and quickly on his side and that it can take up to 9 weeks for me to receive me refund. Rep then assured me that the ‘9 weeks’ waiting period is just an “up to” sort of thing and my refund can be processed much quicker than that.

and now here we are. WMR still reads “your tax refund is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.” never saw any of those bars that some of you had posted. But anyway, at this point it’s a waiting game. For those of you who have filed a bit early and haven’t seen any movement I’d just check my mail. Maybe you’ve received something from the IRS that will explain the delay.

      Thanks for reading.

Good luck and happy taxing everyone.

I called last week, was told nothing was sent to me, which happened to be a lie as I called monday and they said I needed to ID verify and the letter had been sent a while ago. So I went up to my local tax office and did it there. Now I am playing the waiting game again.

I got my Id verify on the 13th, verified online the 14th, said would take 9 weeks. Only thing that changed was my WMR tool changed from “still being” to just “being” processed on the 21st. Transcripts are blank or N/A. No tax topic, no bars, only the refund amount.

Sorry don’t have access to transcripts.

@Jay hopefully we do. Trying to remain as positive as possible. Do you have access to your transcripts? If so, are you seeing any codes that could cause concern?

I had the same experience. Got my 5071C letter Monday. Verified over the phone. She told me could be up to 9 weeks as well. My WMR hasn’t changed. Still showing “still processing”
Hopefully we will see changes soon!
