ID verification

So I was told I needed to verify my email by sending in my w2 forms & page 1&2 of my tax forms . I thought that the iD verification was a survey process that u could either do online or mail it in . I was told to only fax or ail my tax forms . Has this happen to anyone else ? Is this verification process just for my state refund & not my federal ?

That’s what I thought but everyone keeps telling me if there is a hold on one there’s a hold on both . Where’s my refund is staying being processed. Only reason I knew I had to ID VERIFY is cause I went on the Ohio taxation website to check my state

Is it State Asking you to do this or Fed? They are two different entities. Fed does not make you do that. Fed you can only ID verify over the phone or in person.
