Just got off the phone wit the IRS the lady was really nice she said since they have my w2 to verify and she see no issues she requested that my refund is rushed to me due to personal questions she asked without me bringing it up she was very very helpful..

Called. Verified who I am. Explained that I got a message thru SBGT that stated I had to verify my ID. I downloaded the photocopy of my ID and the message returned stated it would be forwarded to the IRS.

The guy at the IRS asked me for my SS and my Income sources. I gave him the info. He asked my income for one job – gave it. Asked how much I paid in taxes on that job… I didn’t have that W-2 in front of me and I told him I was unsure.

He asked me for my dependents SS# – gave them. Birth dates – gave them.

I told him I was unable to order my online transcript as it gave the message that my information didn’t match their records. He asked what year – 2016 – he said they are not available yet.

He put me on hold. Came back – I asked if my refund was being processed/held due to the EIC. He said the EIC was already reviewed and my taxes are held for review. I asked if it was for ID verification. He couldn’t tell me. He said it would be reviewed and released OR if not – I would get a letter.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I filed 2/3 – was accepted 2/3 – 1 EIC credit. Filed thru TT (as I have for the past 10 or so years)….

@Kendall Jones your 21 days would be the 24th. Without credits I wouldn’t see an issue but then again it’s the IRS they are doing things wacky this year. I would keep checking WMR. I really don’t know more than what’s been reported.

@sarah you’re a preparer right OK so a preparer filed my simple return no extra credits period I was accepted the 27th of January and my bars are gone just a generic return is being processed . Is this typical or not first time on here. I think my 21 days are up. The preparer used taxwise.

Meaning you are stressed about your refund as to why you answered her questions the way you did and she “told you she would rush your refund”.

People like you are why this site is becoming trash. It’s filled with people spreading false information.

I had two interactions today , one guy answered the phone quickly stated his name and credentials (doubt they were real) then asked what I wanted, almost before I could finish he blurted “ah yeah i’ll transfer you to the balance department” and I waited a good bit and realized I was never going to get back on the phone with someone, hung up, called back and got on the phone with a very nice women who really didn’t tell me much more than what I already knew , but she was really nice and though I heard no typing made it seem like she was giving any sort of info that wasn’t already available oh yeah they had my old address still, I really like the IRS :p

I never asked I was just trying to see if my refund was cool I never asked her for a ddd date or even an estimate she asked if I had eic i told her idk so she checked my account and said she seen my w2 in their system so I should b moving quick then she asked if I was on hardship or about to be evicted I never brought that up not once or called with a sob story simply to check if my refund was ok so she said since my w2 is in the system and my personal issues she out in a request for anrush and if nothing by tomorrow then to call back she made notes and all again I never asked her too not everyone is a asshole and their are some ppl out their with a heart and just love helping ppl

I’ve never heard of them rushing any refunds. I am a tax preparer and they do not send out refunds because of tax payers specific needs nor do they rush them.
