Did anyone else receive tax topic 151 appeal. I filed claimed either ctc i have 3 boys 2 are my fiancé kids we been together for 11 years. This is the first time I’m claiming it for them because my fiance makes to much to get the eitc ctc. I got the whole we will send letter within 30 days crap I take care of them anyone else on this ship!!😟😒

Claiming your girlfriends kids as dependents is tricky. In the past you would not be able to even if she did not claim the child as a dependent. The IRS revised its rules and now allows the boyfriend with whom the parent and child lived with to claim the child as a dependent–as long as the mother’s income is so low that she doesn’t need to file a tax return. The fact that she makes too much to get the EITC may get you.
In the end I guess all you can do is wait for the letter.

@AFine there’s no need for rude comments when people are hurting and needing this money. You have a right to your opinion but there’s no need to share it.
To the OP, I have claimed my fiancé‘s kids in the past without issue. I told them I provide more than 50% of their care and they live with me all year (which was all true), and I got the credit. Doesn’t mean it’ll work the same for everyone but wanted to share my experience. -

You say your Fiance makes to much to get the credits….SO he pays at least 50 % of there care….Sorry you may have a problem! You will have to prove that you had the right to claim them. Taking care of them are not enough esp when there parent lives with them as well. Either way you maybe in for the long haul to get your refund back!
