I had some kind of offset. How do I find out what it is???.?.
Why are you all selecting option 1 when calling the offset line? It clearly states that option 1 is for business debts. Option 2 is for private debts that were incurred by an individual. So option 2 is the only one you should be checking unless you are a business owner.
Call 800-304-3107 check both options 1 & 2 before assuming you don’t have any offsets. They will tell you what you owe and who the payment goes to. If you still have money left over they normally send a paper check.
I heard from a Turbo Tax agent that if you filed with them, the Tax Topic 203 might pop up due to their fees. Not sure of your situation but James I hope and pray that you and me both just get lucky and wake up to a DD
Is there any chance the offset wouldnt go through and you still receieve your direct deposit??
If it’s says by topic 203 it’s like child support, unemployment, student loans things of that nature. If it says topic 201 that’s a tax debt and the automated system number I gave you won’t release that you’ll have to speak to someone about the situation on the phone. I hope this helps.
Call 1800 304 3107 right now! Press option 1 follow prompt. Then press option 2 follow prompt it’ll tell u all debt and offset information on the automated system. This is 24 hours a day
Call the offset line on Monday.
