I called to make an appointment at my local IRS office and the rep verified

I called the number on the IRS website to make an appointment because I have the dreaded “still processing” message on WMR. I had no intentions of doing anything other than making my appointment. I was on hold 7 minutes before an agent picked up. She asked me what my appointment was for and I told her I wanted to make sure there was nothing needed from me since I have a new last name and moved states. She said she couldn’t make an appointment for me to just “check” on me refund but offered to take a look and try to assist. I gave her my info and she placed me on hold for about 6 minutes. She said my refund was rejected and just accepted 2/27 (even though it was really accepted on 02/14). There was a hold of some kind but she said that she had pushed it through and gave me a refund date of 03/06. She said I should update tonight (I will keep you guys posted). I gave you all this long spill to say, if you aren’t acting anxious and rude with the IRS reps, you may get a really nice person that is willing to assist. Try calling the appointment line, they can do the same thing that an agent you waited 2 hours on hold can do.

I’ve been following this thread for about 3 weeks now and have seen a lot of people with the still processing message get their money. Some even before WMR updated to a DDD.

I did call on Friday, they said I was resequenced. I filed and was accepted on 2/4, but didn’t get processed until 2/20, and so I should be getting an update this Wednesday, for a DDD of Friday. She said I didn’t have any issues. I did notice though that many people from the week I filed 2/4-2/8 still do not have DDD. I think they pushed back people from that week. They processed returns out of order this year. It really has no rhyme or reasoning.

@stephen did she make the appointment? if not i’d visit the office as a walk in to speed things up.

@ohiomom2019 if it says “still” then you may want to follow up to make sure there is no issue. In the past that has always meant an issue for me. That was the original reason for me wanting to make my appointment in the first place. If you don’t update Wednesday, you should def call or visit the office.

I called to make that same appointment she pulled my account up and just told me it was under review if they needed anything from me they would send a letter.

I did not update unfortunately. But, I lost my bars on a Wednesday and changed to the still processing message. I’m assuming I will continue to update on Wednesday. Just a thought.

I updated to a ddd of 3/6 this morning as well. I verified my identity on 2/27 was told the usual 9 weeks, plus 30 days cause the system was down or some stuff. Updated from still processing to being processed a day later. The agent I spoke with was cool.
