This is my experience with H&R Block, the IRS and getting my refunds. I went back to college beginning in 2014 so I have been claiming the American Opportunity Credit. Before this I had to pay for ALL the years. It’s a new experience getting a refund.
This year I completed my taxes with H&R Block on January 16th, 2018 and was accepted on January 22nd 2018. As usual WMR shows one bar. My experience with WMR has been I will have the money in the bank and it will still show one bar. The past two years it has been almost 3 weeks to the day for the money to be sent from the IRS.
With the IRS and refunds it has become very clear they have no history or policy of consistency. You can be the first to file and the last to receive your funds or vice versa.
As for H&R Block. I have been using Block for 30+ years and not once been dissatisfied with their products or services. Of course now I do it all online but still it is always easy and accurate.
This is just my 2 cents worth. I hope everyone else receives their refunds in a timely manner.
