Hello… I elected to use H&R block this year for my tax return. I received the EIC credit. I file on January 9th and received an email on January 13th, from H&R block, indicating my return was accepted. First, I thought I would get a jump on the tax season and assumed I would be early in the line when the Feds accepted returns on 1/27 or 1/29. I got the “return has been received” notification on the normal status bar initially. Then mid to late February the bar disappeared and changed to “We have received your tax return and it is being processed”.

I have searched over this forum and web to find what the holdup may be… to no avail. I am waiting on the code from the IRS to access my transcripts so I can’t do that. I have not contacted the IRS via phone. Can anyone provide insight on this? Did I file too early so they sent me to the back? Does H&R block take longer? ANY info would be helpful… thanks.

You are right… I called and spoke to a IRS rep yesterday. She was nice and helpful… she indicated that my taxes were under a 45 day review which began in mid February. She also said the review end date was 4/9/20 and I should either have my refund by then or have a date for direct deposit. So… sorry H&R Block.

I’ve used H&R block many years but this is my first time getting a letter. I have a good tax preparer. Once they click the button and the IRS accepts you, they’ve done their part. They ask you to look over EVERYTHING before they send. This year it’s straight up the IRS. Period.

I used H&R Block, as well, but I don’t think this is their fault. I’ve used them several times in the past and have never had a bad experience with them. I will use them, again.

I think it is safe to say I will NEVER use H&R block again… just to be safe.

We also used HR block. Called this morning and 2 lines on the refund are mixed up so are refund is froze. Waiting for call back from HR block right now. Not happy to pay someone to do it to make sure no mistake and have a huge mistake that’s holding everything up. Hopefully it can get fixed in a timely manner.

I elected to use H&R Block for the first time as well. Filed and accepted on 01/27. Ended up getting a letter stating I was under review and to do nothing. Got the letter last week but was dated 02/19. First time this has ever happened to me with this being my first time using H&R
