I’ve filed with HRBlock for the last 5 or so years with my business(sole prop) and never had any issues until this year. I got rejected and I first got this messaged:

There was a processing issue with your return, and it will be corrected on or about February 5, 2020. You don’t need to make any changes or updates. Just click Fix Issues and then Continue to File to e-file your return again.

And followed the steps, only to get rejected again. I contacted their chat and they said I would need to contact the IRS. They also told me that if you continue to listen to their directions and try more than 5 times, the IRS will flag your SSN.

Anyone else get this message? I’m likely just going to wait until the 6th to try and file again as I’m thinking it’s an issue on their side, not the IRS or me.

I originally filed on 1/23 and then this past Saturday received they same status update. It is a processing error on H&R blocks end. They are hoping to have it fixed tomorrow and supposedly we should be able to file again and it go through properly. As far as trying more than 5 times and the IRS will flag your SSN, I have no clue. My thought is that it doesn’t even reach the IRS due to the processing error so I’m not sure if that includes processing errors.

What I don’t understand, is why are other people now filing and getting accepted but we can’t until the 5th?

If you plan on filing with HR block and plan on claiming tuition and fees be prepared to wait they will not have form 8917 until feb 5 or later been a hell of a week trying to figure out why my e file kept getting rejected finally just removed the 1098t form and it finally processed and was accepted by irs.

It’s not the irs. Dont file with them they will reject you again. File somewhere else. My state has been pending since January 9th and I got the run around until today. Finally got a text today saying they rejected my return since January 16th.
