Tomorrow makes the 21st day since I filed and was accepted. I called today to try to get any info. First agent told me that she can’t give me any in for until tomorrow. 2nd agent I tried said they have to go by 21 days from the 29th and will not even look up a return until feb 19th.

So how do i get an agent to tell me wtf is going on with my return?

It’s literally the 1st bullet point under tt 152

Well if they are instructed to not give info until after the filing season opens, again, their page should reflect that. It does not it says that you can contact them 21 after you have recieved notice of your return being accepted, not 21 days after the filing season opens. It is that wording that needs to be addressed.

IRS is open year round for customer service. They are instructed to NOT give refund information until 21 days after filing season opens. So if anyone is getting information it’s probably general information but they are not actually pulling up an account.

Now that is pure facts. They should not state you all are accepted until opening day. I totally get it!!

My take is, if you can’t open your customer service to be avail 21 days after accepted, stop putting accepted and maintain the processing message. As far as I am concerned 21 days after being accepted, I have the legal right to request information…so frustrating

Unfortunately 21 days after the IRS opened, doesn’t matter if they accepted you early. Reading from the many post, no one is successful. I think they are trying to get things done quicker this year. Just hope everyone don’t bombard them with calls as they have most info posted and updated now. It states majority of filers will see an update on Feb 17. If you’re not an eitc or actc filer, then yes of course call!
