Help with verification

WMR says “still” processing.
When my husband and I signed into our accounts, there was a message about verifying our returns, it said a notice may have been sent, we haven’t received one yet, and when we look at the letters and notices tab, nothing is there.

On my husbands accounts, 2024 transcripts are there, with an as of date of 3/3 but nothing else is populated, my account has no 2024 transcripts available. We called the number given, and they said we have to give them 21 days from the acceptance date to receive the letter, but they gave us the number to call to make an appointment to verify in person, when we called that number, they refused to make an appointment, and said not to call back until 3/3, at that point they would send out another notice, would have to wait another 21 days, then they would make an in person appointment for us. So, 42 days total, then they said it would take an additional 9 weeks to process after we received the notice, or had an in person interview.
I am at a complete loss here, I have never encountered anything like this before. I read a post elswhere saying that sometimes these things fall of, and the return continues processing, I’ve also seen nightmare stories where people got stuck in this endless loop and had to wait a year or more for there refund.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Have you called 1-800-830-5084 explain that you have not received a letter. They may verify over the phone or send another letter. I was in the sand boat. Filed 1/27 and looked in my irs account to see I needed to verify. I called and it showed I was never sent a letter they resent and I received the letter a week later. I entered the number from my letter online and it gave me a message that my verification was correct and they would proceed with processing my return. Hope this helps

Once you verify your identity it can take up to 9 weeks to get your refund. Call your local congressman’s office tomorrow! They can help you speed things up and advocate for you.I had a problem one year with mine I called my local congressman’s office and they came through for me! They can definitely speed up the process.Make sure you tell them you financially need this refund and you can not afford to wait months!
