      HI,

I filed and was accepted 2/7. I know I owe taxes from like 2014 or something, but I called the treasures office and it didn’t say anything about me having an offset. But, I know I do. I can get my transcripts. and I have a processing date of March 6th, do you know what that means? Also, it doesn’t have anything about my offset on there either. So, I am kind of confused.

Yes, I know what you mean. This year has been hell. I know I owe taxes for 2014. Just wondering why it didn’t show up. I spoke to someone yesterday and they said they believe that is the only thing holding mine up as well and everything else looked great. Just don’t understand why it so hard for the IRS to take money to pay the IRS.

            Similar story here:

*Filed with TT 2/3, accepted same day
            *PATH message until 2/15
*2/6 update to generic “received being processed” message
*Ordered both transcripts by mail and received them last Friday 2/18

Everything looked good. No issues! No codes! Nothing to signal a problem of any sort. I am a weekly updater (cycle 20170605) so I figured every Saturday I would have a shot at a DDD.

So I waited.. and waited.. aaaaand nothing updated.

Finally I logged into my state (MA) refund tracker and lo and behold! An offset from 2011 for $400something. Whatever, Massachusetts takes every cent they can.

BUT! When I called the offset hotline there are no offsets on file. I believe the hotline is strictly for “non tax” offsets (i.e. student loans, child support arrears, etc) so a state or federal tax that’s owed won’t show up.

I spoke with an IRS rep yesterday and today. They made me answer 10000 security questions and were finally able to pull up my info. Supposedly (and I use that term loosely) the offset is the only issue on my return and it should update soon and give me a DDD. We’ll see. Ive never had such a hard time getting my returns. Even the year I was audited to the 9’s was a cakewalk compared to the runaround BS that 2017 has offered up.
