I read that the system outage could have been caused by hackers! Anyone else read that?

2013 was pretty bad for some people. My sister had the same address dependents, and job that year as the previous years but she didn’t get her refund for over a month that year due to delays. That year they had some new forms and there were issues with the forms for the education credits that year. I think it’s the new penalties for the healthcare and the forms associated with the healthcare that’s causing the issues.

Hope NOT cause they spent $23MILLION on new “FRAUD DETECTION/INHIBITOR” Software but then they spent BILLIONS on the ObamaCare Site and it looks like Romper Room

I did read that article, bet there has been a lot of speculation as to why this has happened to the system..there is truth, though, in the fact that there are many of us who are being “recycled ” or almost at our 21 deadline date with zero information given to us. Hopefully that is the result of them “shutting down” some systems..so they can fix whatever glitch happends that pushed us aside and we’re still pushing later filers all the way thru till yesterday?

Never seen it this delayed or chaotic? Look at all the past years forums. Same thing every year. Last year they didn’t start accepting till like 2/1

the irs said it was due to hardware failure but who knows something isn’t right this year I have been filing taxes for 12 years and have never seen it this delayed or chaotic but I hope everyone gets their money soon because it is always nice to have extra money
