Duncan, yea I was thinking about that, even though I just switched about 2 months ago from geico to esurance. Was paying about $210 full coverage 2 vehicles each month…ouch..it was killing me. Esurance I am paying now $154 a month for 2 vehicles..full coverage. Saving some money there..but don’t know if I could find something cheaper…what ya think?

Jesse, you should call around and get some quotes on your car insurance before you pay a whole year.

So I was told by my bank that although the money is pending, it has not been released by the IRS yet and will not post until the 22nd. Is this true or are they just sitting on my money? Their customer service department is open on Sundays so I will call again if they have misinformed me. Wmr says BY the 22nd not ON the 22nd. What’s the deal?

Hiloshark why are you trolling on everyone thread! You are this thread and others spreading your negativity around. We don’t need that we are here sharing our experiences with each other wishing each other for the best not WORST! If you happy waiting til Thursday then so be it! We don’t need you on here being negative. It’s not like we haven’t had experience with early deposit before. I personally know ppl that recvd money on Saturday and Sunday so please stop it. Why are you even on here? Your not helping us. And please I read your other post on another thread.. I can care less about your filing taxes for 25 years!! Who cares that’s irrelevant to the fact we rcvd early deposits. Happy saturday ppl in spite of us being happy that we finally have DDD someone always want to spoil it!! But we came too far to let one person stop our happiness and it’s not gonna happen!!

Hilo shark
You are wrong, traditional banks yes. Prepaid cards no.
More specifically rush and netspend, they don’t hold any funds nor do they pend them. Once they recieve notice of deposit they make the funds avaliable immediately.
Always have always will.

@elite if your so informed on DD you know that ACH network operates only on banking days (not on banking holidays)
thats why when people are due to be payed on a weekend they actually get it early. same thing in this case. ach will not be in operation sat, sun mon, and dep that goes threw ach for 2/22 HAD to be sent out 2/17 PERIOD . so yes, thats why some people are seeing funds on cards today

I just read an article on Forbes saying that not only will irs customer service be open on Monday bit they will have extended hours even though it’s a federal holiday. They said they are doing that because the 21st is the busiest day of the tax season and they take thousands of calls per hour that day.

TO BE CLEAR PEOPLE GOT THEIR MONEY SO EARLY. THE 16TH IN SOME CASEES BECASUE THERES A FED HOOLIDAY MON. THEY HAVE TO GET YOUR MONEY TO YOU BEFORE THE DDD SO IF YOUR DATE WAS THE 22ND OF COURSE YOUD GET YOUR MONEY EARLY CAUSE THEY HAVE TO SEND ACH TRANSFERS 2 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE A DDD TO INSURE IT GETS THERE IN TIME. SO 2 DAYS BEFORE THE 22ND WOULD BE THE 16TH… ANYBODY WHO UNDERSTANDS HOW DD WORK SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT. TEUSDAY DAY 1. FRIDAY THE 17TH DAY 2. MOST PEOPLE THAT HAD DDD FOR 2/22 WOULD SEE IT THURS THE 16TH OR FRI 17TH.
FOR US ON THE 23RD… PEOPLE WILL SEE PENDINGS IN THEIR BANK ON THE 21ST WITH TIME ZONE CHANGES SOME VERY LATE MONDAY NIGHT. IF YOU GO THREW SBBT … YOU AINT GETTING THAT SHIT TILL THE 23RD

@hiloshark You couldnt be any more incorrect! My DDD is the 22nd. I have already received half of my refund on the 16th…. Every year my refund comes BEFORE the DDD. Go away with your misinformation and stupidity!

@hiloshark that’s never been the case with me. I always got my money sooner than the ddd! Many others have also gotten their money before as well. As @Shak stated never say never. We are stating facts here.

@hiloshark
“Wild expectations” are proving to exist, esp this year.
& ESP if you have prepaid cards that post immediately. I saw hundreds that updated with 2/22 deposit dates yesterday morning from WMR & the get their deposits all throughout the day yesterday.
So never say never. -
February 18, 2017 at 11:23 am #4178293hiloshark
nobodies getting money early. if it says your dd is the 23 it will be the 23. could show up at sbbt on wed but not hit your card till the 25th. year in and year out people get on this site with wild expectations….you will never get your money earlier than the DDD

February 18, 2017 at 10:50 am #4178243Always Unhappy at Tax Time :(
I’m waiting on mine for a ddd of 2/23 on my money card also. The card is in my name so I know everything is fine with the deposit. But the problem is, is I haven’t seen anybody at all say that they got any type of deposit for their money card. Not even people with a date of 2/22. There’s that problem and we also have to worry about it they even sent our deposits out to the treasury to be sent out yet. I don’t think I even seen anybody get an actual deposit or a pending deposit for 2/23. Praying this money hits sometime soon. I wish it would just show us a pending deposit. It would at least make me feel better ya know? Please if anybody hears anything, let us all know. I think we’ve waited long enough lol

February 18, 2017 at 10:38 am #4178212Kiki
I was looking at their FAQs and it states that our money is released if they are notified early of a deposit so hopefully this is the case!
-
February 18, 2017 at 10:36 am #4178206Kiki
@Shawn oh you should be good. I am a second card holder and I was able to get my tax refund sent to my finance card with no problem and he is the primary card holder. We file separately. As long as your names are in the account you will be fine.

I have ddd of 2/23 and walmart money card. no deposit yet. I’m trying to figure out if they update dd over the weekend. Also slightly worried because I have a joint tax return. However if they look my spouse is an authorized card holder on my account. I don’t think IRS has an issue with it but who knows about walmart. Anxious to here if anyone else gets deposit today or this weekend.
