Just checked the IRS website and it shows my refund approved! Married filing jointly with CTC! Wow!
Your tax refund is scheduled to be sent to your bank by January 29, 2020.
If your refund is not credited to your account by February 3, 2020, check with your bank to see if it has been received. -

This has been the same as lat year so far. Last year I had a ddd 2/6. On 2/6 WMR showed only 2 bars, but SBTP showed received on 2/5 and sent 2/6. It his my chase bank between 4-5pm on 2/6. I expect it to be similar today this year.

Katherine… many people are experiencing this today, including me. My status and situation is exactly as you’ve described yours. I do know though that the iRS has released my refund because I have my fees deducted from my refund and when I check the site for that bank it shows they received my refund yesterday. Many people have said that last year their funds hit their bank later in that day so maybe wait and check your bank again this afternoon.

On the IRS.gov website, under Where’s My Refund it says that “Your tax refund is schedule to be sent your bank on January 29, 2020.” Today is the 29th, and the IRS.gov website has not sent it nor has the indicator light changed to orange.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
-Thank you

How old is your child?under 17?

If your refund has been approved, you didn’t actually claim with any child tax credits. It is against federal law for the IRS to release refunds with those credits before February 15th. There are no exceptions.
Path affects EIC and ACTC, not regular CTC

@Ftmill16
The ACTC is not for people claiming more children than allowed for the CTC. I have one child and I am eligible for ACTC. The ACTC is a refundable credit where as CTC is nonrefundable.

I go this too and was shocked! I haven’t even been checking irs because I knew I wouldn’t see a refund till end of Feb. I didn’t qualify for EIC but did receive the child tax credit. I’m so excited!!!! I’ve been more focused on state because I usually get that one early and that one hasn’t processed.

@thesensibleguy not true. I am approved, have 2 kids ( within CTC income limit) and am approved after 5 days of filing with 1/29 DDD.

I keep seeing people simply refer to it as the CTC, high Instill get a partial one for my 19 yr old daughter. Was pretty sure it only applied to ACTC (for people that claim more children than allowed for on the regular credit.). Thanks so much for clearing this up. I’ve used this site for I believe the last 3years and honestly, I’ve learned so much. Also, last year when my refund was held up and it took 5 weeks, knowing I wasn’t the only one in that boat kept me from panicking, certain that something was wrong. So again, thanks.
To the newer people here, and if you really don’t know something, I’d either ask or lurk around and learn. Just be careful about spreading misinformation. We all get a little crazy when it comes to 💰 💵

What’s up with all these weirdos quoting the law. This site is full of people who know that test batches exist

Thank you Jibb for the clarification too

This is not true. The law is clear that it covers EITC and ACTC. Not regular CTC

Child tax credit does not cause a delay. ADDITIONAL child tax credit does.
