Got letter 0012C – Form 8962 – 1095A Will this delay my refund?

I got this in the mail today asking me to send in my 1095A and form 8962. It’s not clear if I need to do this to complete my return or be an amendment.

Has anyone else had this and delay your refund. It’ says on the letter it will take 6-8 weeks to there is a refund due to you. Per the IRS it says that as well. It makes it seem that if I am owed an additional refund they will send it in 6 to 8 weeks of receiving the forms.

I still can’t order transcripts and I have the message on WMR “Your return is still being process. A date will be provided …. ” I’m just not happy that it took them 12 days after I sent my return to send me that letter requesting the forms.

I did find another thread on here and realize that I need to fax this sucker back asap. I hope it doesn’t effect my refund too long. It seems from other post it adds a week or two. I wish TaxAct was a little more clear about that while going through their entries. I only remember it asking if I had health coverage for all 12 months. Nothing about healthcare.gov coverage. I only had it for 3 months.

Yes your refund will be delayed until you send your proof of health insurance.
