I’m now worried… why would it be accepted and give me a dd of 2/22 and suddenly today I have topic 203 on there? Has this happened to anyone? Did you still see your return?

Talked to the agency that holds my defaulted loan and I am getting set up with the rehabilitation program but they said they don’t handle offsets or have any say in the matter. The offset line tells me to contact them and DOE says I’m there for an offset but my refund status is still just in accepted. does the collection agency have any say in regards to offsets? Has anyone filed for economic hardship and actually gotten their full refund back?

If it’s for student loans you can get the money they take from your refund back if you can prove you are having financial trouble (hardship). Just make sure you get on a small payment plan or they will take it again and again until you are payed up or on a plan.

I also have 203 tax topic but I called offset hotline and it’s my husband’s child support. He’s only behind 350 so that’s what they are taking. It said another dept on option 2 for Wisconsin dept of revenue. He said he owes them 200 in taxes. Hopefully that’s all they take. I’m sure Wisconsin will throw in interest and fees though. Can’t talk to anyone about that til tomorrow. My ddd is 2/23 good luck!

If the offset line doesn’t to you anything then you owe a tax debt. The offset line is only going to tell you about non-tax debts

It is an offset. You owe money. You’ll get whatever remains after paying that off.

It looks like a tax offset. There’s a number you can call to see how much will be taken out of your refund. If there is any money left they will send the rest to you. I don’t think it slows down your refund very much.

Irs issued because there was tax debt to them, at the bottin it stated your total could still change due to other debts. 203 can be many debts from what I researched. This offset is from the Treasury Dept Bureau of Fiscal Services. They took what was owed after the IRS sent in the refund approval

When mine were offset last year due to student loans, it showed a DD but still took all of it.

Looks like its probably due to an offset
