Good morning, all.
Wondering if anyone here used the
GoBank card and got their return yet. We’ve had this card for years with no issues as far as payroll but it’s our first year using it for taxes. We just read this morning about horror stories with the account being locked but it seems to be new cardholders with temp cards and people who changed address.Has anyone here used this card this year and gotten their refund on time?

My boyfriend had his taxes deep into my account but online I read that the name on refund must match name on card account or it will be rejected has anyone went threw this or have they gotten it anyway

Steph, for sure! I will probably check in the morning. Kids ran us down today and I don’t think I can make it to 1AM (pacific here in Seattle it is only 10), haha

Thanks Leslie.
Yeah, I read through their whole deposit account agreement and don’t see anything in their terms that a refund would just be held up for on its own except if there is a deposit error or irregularity.
With the ACTC being larger this year, and we had a new kid last year, I wonder if our tax return being larger than my paychecks would trigger something like this.
From the agreement:
In case of transmission error, or transfer irregularity, your
ability to withdraw funds may be delayed. If this occurs, then funds will generally be available
within five (5) business days after the transfer. We reserve the right to reject or limit transfers via
direct deposit in our sole discretion, and may reject or suspend any direct deposit that has
identifying information that does not match the identifying information (such as name or social
security number) that we have on file for you.transfer irregularity is so vague! haha

First year using Gobank for a tax refund. I am hoping there will be a smooth transition. Usually, my payroll deposits a day early. Good luck everyone…money dropping soon.

3,000 daily atm is what I was thinking about.

10,000 is daily spending limit. Sorry

I am not sure about a single direct deposit, but the maximum amount on my account is $50,000, per user agreement, a 46 page doc with no table of contents, ugh lol

I believe that’s correct. I think the limit to have loaded is 10k or something like that.

The daily limit is for spending or cash deposits from what I read, not a direct deposit, right?

@leslie We’ve had the card for a few years now with no issues. I have my payroll on it and get funds usually a day earlier. Hoping for smooth sailing

@finallyadate I went to look after I commented and saw them all. Every year I’ve seen people complain about them so it’s nothing new to me but I can see why it worried you. Idk what the deal is with some of them besides the change of addy, temp card, claiming fraudulent charges & Uber pay. I’ve had my account locked 3 or 4 times when I made a bunch of purchases in one day and all it’s taken is a call to the automated system and verifying my purchases. I don’t see why after all these years they’d do it to older card holders though. Hopefully they’re not being shady but I don’t think they are.

Thanks for the info! That clears it up quite a bit.

Also….payroll comes 1-2 days early. My tax refund has came up to 2 days before up until the morning of the DDD. It depends on when they get the noticefrom the irs. They update in real time though.

Sorry, forgot to add that you can stash & unstash 8 times (I can’t remember if it’s 6, 8 or 10) times a day. Otherwise you won’t be able to do it until the next day, but can still use your card. I love Gobank.

The getting locked out of account can happen for a number of reasons. A call to them (automated) to verify you’ve made the purchases will unlock. Also you have a daily limit of 3,000 or 5,000. I can’t remember.

I’ve used mine for around 8 years and have never had a prob with my tax return or payroll.

I was wondering the same about them. I have had GoBank since last fall and love it so far. I was looking around to see how early they might deposit tax returns since paychecks are always a day or two early, and that’s when I found similar horror stories.
No reviews are completely transparent. I always take bad reviews with a grain of salt because they usually point one finger but three others are pointing back at themselves. Brand new accounts? Address changes during tax time? etc… not sure but I can’t find any word on how long they are locked for, what happened to their money, etc.
GoBank is FDIC insured and networks with a lot of huge banks. I can’t believe they are just scamming people like the bad reviews are saying.

That’s how ours is. I just worry because I read a bunch of horror stories about people’s accounts closing after their refunds went in. I think it was new cardholders or people who changed names/addresses. Didn’t know if anyone had used them for their taxes before.

I also use GOBANK for my direct deposit and will have my taxes sent to them on or before 2/27. I usually get my payroll debited a day in advance

Straight there. We used an online service to do our taxes.

Is yours going straight there or does it have to go to another bank to pay fees?
