So I won about $495,000 in gambling jackpots in 2024 and made about $100,000 from my regular job. Am I looking at an audit?

I’m actually set to get $5,700 back.

As someone mentioned before, ALWAYS use your players cards…. that way you can have record of losses… to offset winnings…
Although, winning that much would be tough to offset.

I’m actually filing and wanted to do the itemized deduction. I’m not sure if I should, because I don’t have an adequate paper trail. I did include all my wg forms. I just don’t want to get audited. Any suggestions?

Stay away from the strip, I only play at Station Casinos, get a players card and don’t play without it.

Wow… we just moved to Vegas, you might have to share your tips and tricks and best places to go. I won’t big on scratcher in 2019 in California I’m talking in the millions and we didn’t get audited :) I obviously could only write off the amount I lost playing the scratchers and also had big tax obligation but no audit. As long as there is a paper trail I wouldn’t worry
