I forgot to file my 1095A with my taxes since I only had insurance a couple months from the Marketplace.
On Sunday I lost my bars on WMR and got the dreaded “still being processed message.”
I’m hoping to just amend my taxes after I get my refund. Has anybody else forgotten their 1095A and still gotten a DDD or a refund? I’ve tried calling the IRS but they refuse to even look at my return even though I filed it 21 days ago.

Your refund will be held then you will receive a 12c letter Don’t do an amendment. Letter will be asking to fax or mail in form 8962 and your 1095a copy
The amendment produces a completely filled out 8962 and doesn’t act as an actual amendment unless mailed in.

Filed 1/27 WITHOUT my 1095-A(thanks TT🖕🏽) anyways got the letter for a 1095-A && 8962 on 2/14. Sent off in the mail on 2/18, called on 2/24 && they received my forms. On 2/28 my transcripts FINALLY showed up && since I update on Saturdays my WMR finally showed a DD of 3/4. So it took from the time I mailed my forms 10days for them to process them. So it’s taken almost 35days to actually get my income tax from the day I filed. Hope this helps!

I have the same issue. Did my taxes 1/17/20 got a letter 2/9 about the 1095/8962. Faxed all the info in on 2/13 and as of 2/28 the rep stated he couldn’t see where they had processed it yet. All he could tell me was that my file was no longer in the Error Department. Even with that said, I still don’t have an update. I’m getting concerned.

The 8962 was a total PITA to fill out so I went ahead with the advice of someone who ran into the same problem last year and just amended my refund which produced a 8962. Can I just go ahead and fax that form along with my 1095A and just let them offset the difference of 420.00 or should I mail the whole thing in?
Stupid bonuses screwed me all up.

I had this issue. Received letter for missing 1095-A on 2/10; I faxed it back 2/11.
I could order my transcripts on 2/21. Refund went up $1500.
I had code 971 and 570.
Changed to 846 on 2/28 on my transcript . DDD for 3/4.
WMR showed up today (2/29) with DDD of 3/4 and it says I’ll get the extra $1500 on 3/9. -

I forgot my 1095-A as well using TT on 1/27 but never received a letter yet. It’s been stuck in being processed with no bars for weeks now. I will be calling the IRS on Monday. For the people who were able to fix it by submitting a 1095-A and 8962 did they just offset your refund or will we need to amend as well?

I didn’t even know I needed to fill the stupid thing out with my taxes since it was for my daughter and we filed it with hers, but apparently we’re supposed to file it with both of them since she’s still a “dependent” one more year on mine. Ugh! Now I know what the hold up has been. Got the letter today.
I really hope it doesn’t take 6-8 weeks and that was one confusing form!

I am also disabled, wife is partially disabled, and so I fully understand, believe me. Bills and many needs pile up during the year and so we depend on this money to get caught up for a while. When ya don’t have a pot to piss in to begin with, unless one is in that boat, its hard to understand. Praying we see money hit early.

** DO NOT WORRY :) **
JUST MAKE THE CORRECTION WITH THE IRS AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO, IT MIGHT TAKE A BIT LONGER, BUT WHAT OTHER OPTIONS DO YOU HAVE, SO DONT STRESS. :) YOU GOT THIS!

1095A isn’t that big a deal. I don’t think they will hold up your refund much just for that. I missed filing mine too, more than 1 time, never had an issue at all. I wouldn’t worry. It will all work out.

Hello everyone. Thought I was the only on in this boat. Mine says still being processed. Faxed the forms last Tuesday and Friday they said they did not see them. And the woman told me 8 weeks or so until I should check back. Anyone else hear this info?

Accepted 1/25, got letter on 2/7 requesting 8962 and 1095a, faxed info on 2/9. I still have no bars, just the still processing page, but I called and they confirmed receiving and told me it was all corrected on 2/13. I’m just waiting on them to update, but I guess possible to get refund before they update site.

@Katja, you’re welcome. Hoping for the best, and, you don’t owe me nor anyone else an explanation.
All the best, and I do hope it works out timely for you. As another mentioned “if you can prove hardship” (sounds like so in your case), try that route.

I filed with TT on 1/27…i received a letter from the IRS on 2/14 telling me to send a copy of my 1095-A as well as a filled out 8962 form before I could receive my taxes and that once they received the forms I would get my taxes in 6-8wks. TT did NOT have the option for me to enter my 1095 form. Definitely made me upset especially bc of how complicated the 8962 form is to fill out.

Does anyone have the fax number for the IRS? Maybe I’ll get a head start and fax my forms now.

I ended up getting a letter in the mail to submit my 1095a with form 8962. If you had it and got any kind of premium tax credit towards the insurance you will have to file it. It wont show on WMR.

Thanks Target. I know people shouldn’t rely on their refund, but I have a disabled child and really need it. It’s been a rough year and it’s only Feb lol.

Evidently, quite a few. And very many used TT, where the “option” was omitted. And now must file . However, I’ve read it isn’t a huge deal, easily fixed. Therefore shouldn’t hold up your refund.
All the best ..
