How long did it take to see your refund? Did you have to do additional stuff?
I called IRS yesterday and the man told me to wait the 45 days at least and that by April 2nd (45 days from feb. 15) I should receive an update on my refund or a letter for additional information. Are they kidding me??? Told me he’s not allowed to share why I’m under a review, that’s bullshit. How can they hold my money and not tell me wtf is going on?
I filed 1/29 and was accepted then. No bars since 2/16. Still processing message. TT 152. EIC/CTC

Trav,
They basically told me the same thing – nothing! Have you heard anything or seen any movement? On wmr mine says, “your refund is being processed”..with the amount, etc. no codes – nothing!
Let me know..

I filed at the beginning of February, and around the same time that you created this post, I decided to call the IRS to find out why I was still not give a date for my refund.
I found out that I was randomly selected for a review.
I received my 4464c letter in the mail today.
I called the IRS number again. The representative indicated that the 4464c letter means that I was truly selected randomly for review and that it doesn’t necessarily mean that I completed my return incorrectly.
Though the representative did not give me any solid promises that I would see my refund sooner, I got the idea that reviews associated with a 4464c letter do not typically take a full 45 days to be completed.
Have you received your letter yet? Have you received any helpful information?

I filed my taxes with H&R Block on 1/25 and the IRS accepted it soon after. I already received my Minnesota Refund. I filed the EITC and the ACTC so I knew my refund would be delayed until the end of Feb. The issue I have is that H&R Block online software uploaded 2 of my W2 forms incorrectly (they had the wrong amount of federal tax withheld!) so that affected my refund amount significantly. I received a letter from the IRS asking for copies of my W2 forms to verify the federal tax withheld. I faxed all the necessary paperwork the day after I received the letter (2/10). I was told NOT to file an amended return.
So my issue is that the WMR is still stating that my return is still processing and my tax transcript states that no return has be filed.
Is there anyone out there that had this issue happen and how long did it take to receive your refund after you sent in all the paperwork? I am hoping to find out some insight here before I have to spend the afternoon on the phone with the IRS.
Thank you! -

Same thing for me , my bars disappeared . I filed and was accepted the 29 th . I have called twice . Was told first time I’d get a letter by March 5th if I didn’t get my refund , that they were behind that they HAD to review everyone’s .. then got a letter yesterday saying it was a random review I called the lady said she didn’t see anything that they were doing random reviews call back in 45 days .. today I got my account and return transcript by mail finally but they are confusing so idk looks like we’re all in the same boat .. they both told me to keep checking WMR it could show up anytime . However they did this the year before last . I went back and looked almost same letter that year I had tax advocate help me which took forever and nothing was wrong .. so idk ????

After we got a tip on here that everybody that filed early online with eitc/actc and ones that didn’t have the credits are being held up in review by the irs. In fact the reason early filers are being held up is because of the new tax updates that hr block, turbo tax, etc… system did not upload the new software in time for the refunds to be released properly. Indeed this is the case my wife just called hr block and asked what did the file date 2/24 mean because we filed and it was accepted on 1/29 and the worker didnt know why but the supervisor said their software didnt take in time and they had to let the irs know and the irs has had to manually enter everyones return and that was our date. If you log in to your hr block account it will be able to tell you when you go to the history when it was accepted but what file date actually was and ours was 2/24 that the irs has actually processed our return after having it for a month. THE IRS is covering for the companies not having their software updated on time. Thats the reason the IRS is saying everyone is under review with no letters being sent out.

I called today, filed 1/24 accepted 1/25 EITC/ACTC lost bars on 2/16. shows TT 152 with amount and last 4 of SSN on left. Was told under a random review, she told me if they need anything else i will receive a letter. Review start was 2/15 and I have not gotten any letters or notices. she said that was a good sign that is should be resolved soon. hope she is right. but they allow them selves 45 days.

This will now be the third IRS rep I’ve spoken to in 3 weeks. I filed 1/23 and was accepted the same day. I filed EITC like normal, just as I’ve done the past several years.
After a 26 minute wait to speak to someone, and a 5 minutes wait after THAT for the rep to “look over my account,” I was told that the 1541 means I was “just a random pull.” She could see where I got the 4464C letter saying that I was under review for no particular reason, and as of today, had no errors/flags on my return for anything. I don’t need to verify ID, fill out any paperwork, resubmit my return, or correct/amend anything. Nothing needs to be done. The review itself could take up to 4-6 weeks total before I see my refund, and it’s already been 3. She said there were no notes about any further letters being mailed out. If they did need me to do anything, they would notify me via mail — but because she saw nothing in the system indicating so, she said I should “take that as a good sign.” Yet again, I was advised to keep checking WMR daily for updates.

Same here, Nona! But I filed 1/23 and was accepted the same day. I don’t understand this! And as usual, NO update today. I spoke to an agent a few days ago, and he told me my review was officially started on 2/1, but he “wasn’t sure why.” The only thing he WAS sure about was that I didn’t need to do anything. I’ve been at the same job for 5 years, haven’t moved, am still single, and have claimed my daughter just like I always do. There’s been no change to anything. I was encouraged to keep checking the WMR app, and if I’m lucky, assuming there’s no problems, my review should close on April 1st — if not sooner. WTF?!!!!!
