Technically my 21 days is tomorrow, but I figured I would make a thread since no movement has happened today.
So, who is in the same boat? Any help from the IRS? I tried calling today, but it just says they are overwhelmed from the calls and call back later.

Looks like I’m in the same boat as everyone here. I filed and was accepted on feb 13th. A week later I had no bars, no tax topic, but the amount didn’t change on WMR. I couldn’t log in to see my transcripts anymore, before than i could but they were N/A except for account and wages and income. I waited out the 21 days while doing research on the possible problem , because I never received a letter from the IRS. I did the ID verify online on my 21st day before i called the IRS. When i called the IRS sounding lady (seriously lol) told me I was pulled from the system because of ID flag, and the letter was mailed out 3 days ago! I told her i did ID verify earlier that day and if I would have to complete it again., She said no, but the eta is 6 weeks max to received my refund. I’m screwed! I counted my eggs before they hatched and now I’m about to homeless. Lesson learned…no rely on refund ever!! I still haven’t seen any updates on WMR or any new transcripts available and this was 3 days ago.
@JD: when I did IDverify it just said completed. No sure what that means.

An update! Sort of…
Filed/accepted 1/22
Bars disappeared next week
Transcripts N/A
Called the 2nd week of February, was told there was an error detected on 2/2Got a letter dated Feb 20 last week for 5071C. Tried online ID Verify, but it said I had to call. So I have called multiple times, all “high volume call back” messages. Finally for kicks tried ID Verify today online, got through! Completed it and they said “6 weeks” from today.
Personally, I am just going to assume the IRS doesn’t want to refund me until it happens otherwise lol.

Turbo Tax says my taxes were accepted: 01/22
Accepted according to IRS: 01/26
Lost Bars: 01/31
Could not (and still can’t) view transcripts.Called IRS: 02/18
I was advised that my file had been flagged for ID theft. I was told to call back in 2-3 weeks.Called IRS: 02/24
I spoke to a woman named Maria who was a total failure. She said the flag was still “pending” for ID theft. She also said that I needed to “allow for mailing time” despite this being a direct deposit. When I asked why I needed to allow for mailing time, she said “How should I know what method you used?” I was shocked. She ended up hanging up on me when I asked for a tax advocate. As of this morning, 02/28, the bars are back! I have a DD of 03/04.
I hope this helps others.

I’m at 35 days since being accepted. No letters, no bars, got my state refund. And now I can’t even get ahold of the irs. Anyone else? Anyone hit a better number than the 829-1040?

I filed on 1/13 and was accepted on 1/14. I lost my bars on 1/30 and nothing for over a week. I attempted to look at my transcripts and received the message contact Identity protection unit, I called answered questions verifying my identity, STILL nothing !! So on 2/9 I called a tax advocate and my case was transferred to a local office and I was contacted on 2/10 and told that the IRS has many different and new flags for possible identity theft and my return was flagged for possible identity theft and I verified my identity once again and then had to wait for them to close out my case the following Wednesday on 2/18 and I received a DDD of 2/25 a few days later. Fingers crossed I receive it tomorrow!!

The sooner the better.. Of course..
I will be contacting IRS Monday for update, if WMR does not.. I’ll also try calling my tax advocate in hopes of a more solid date!
Hopefully it will just show up or WMR will update!
Really needing to pay some bills!

I believe those that are flagged for ID theft are given a weekly cycle, and with us all having transcripts becoming available at the same time for the first time, it is possible.
Either we are being put into the first weekly update, and next week our transcripts and return will post with a DD for early march, or we are already posted/appproved for this cycle like other 05s are reporting, as 0705 people are getting DDs for the 25th. If the latter is the case, its possible WMR may not update for us due to the resequencing/id flag.

I just want to know progress is being made!
Just wonder if WMR site will even change or update? What a crappy website that malfunctions constantly!…
When do weekly’s get updates? I don’t know which one I am, but with my luck…

Also in the same boat, was able to finally order account transcripts via mail yesterday, erroneous ID flag prevents me from getting them directly online. Filed 1/20, was confirmed as a weekly (05) by my advocate. No update to WMR. Seems we have some commonality between us.
-
February 21, 2015 at 3:01 pm #4108469Anonymous
Still no update, bars, or other info on WMR!
I was also able to order account transcript through mail.
Anyone possibly have this issue and still get refund after transcripts were available?
-
February 21, 2015 at 2:52 pm #4108468kara
No DDD or update on WMR yet. But, yesterday I was finally able to order my transcript. I still can’t view online because of the identity verification issue. But maybe, hopefully, possibly something will change this week?!? Fingers crossed.

Any updates from anyone?
Tomorrow will be two weeks from 2/2 for me (the date the IRS agent told me my return went to the error resolution department).
-
February 13, 2015 at 8:38 am #4106662Crystal
Trans updated to 846 refund issued overnight with the date 3/2/15 next to it, along with a 571 action completed code although I’ve done nothing on my part. Not sure if that’s the date when the check will be mailed or what’s the deal. But at least I got an update. WMR is still missing bars. Hoping that will update overnight tonight and I can get a clearer picture on when my refund will be received.

I just got off of the phone with the absolute most helpful person at the IRS. I called shortly before they closed 6:50 my time, and he took down all my info. He did the leg work to take my return to the identity people. Hell, he even CALLED me back to let me know what he found out. My question, he said there were 2 codes identity wise…one was irs ident and one was taxpayer ident. I’ve never called the irs before this year so I have no idea what’s going on with that…
The fishy part, he said calling the identity protection unit probably will do no good and I should wait for a letter I the mail in the upcoming weeks. What are y’alls thoughts on this? Bs or real

Filed 1/20 and accepted same day. My bar disappeared last Saturday morning but still have 152 topic and refund amount. Called Tuesday morning and was told I have offset ( which I knew about) and it would be two weeks. My offset is balance from state tax and is less than my refund. I had Obamacare all year and I do not owe anything on that. I think they are just telling everyone two weeks if you filed on the 20th.

February 11, 2015 at 9:42 pm #4106087TURBO TAX SUCKS
I filed with TT on 1/20 and was excepted same day.
Everything seemed to be progressing although slowly. Got my one bar and code 152
After about a week checked transcripts
The year showed up on my transcripts but when I would open them nothing was in the file just 0’s4 Days ago my bar disappeared ( I though ..ok we are getting close) Nothing …waited till the magical 21 days had past and even gave an extra day before calling.
One the first call I got a very helpful lady who researched my account but could not help me. She finally came on and told me I needed to call the ID Verify dept. I called them and got a very nice woman named Ms Evans. She research and found TT had sent a EMPTY FILE…it was just enough to give me a file number in the IRS system but absolutely NOTHING was in it..no return found. This caused the IRS computer to flag my account!
She asked me a ton of questions to verify i was who i said I was and it was my account. Then told me I would have to go into the nearest IRS office (45miles one way) and give them my ss card and Id as well as my childrens birth certificates!
After getting off the phone with her I proceeded to call TT…waited 45 minutes to get a person who asked my name and email and was obviously new…then without another word but me back in que to transfer. I FINALLY got Anothy from TT on the phone and after about an hour of him relaying messages to tier 2 support so they could relay it to tier 3 support they decided my return never transferred….not shit!! Now since the computer system still shows it DID transfer I am locked out…meaning they cannot send my return to the IRS…because it is “already there”..WAIT it gets better!!
They then proceeded to tell me I could try taking it to the local (45miles) office with the paperwork I have to take anyway…(only because their software caused me to be flagged) but they doubted they could send it electronically either and I would have to mail it in!!
TURBO TAX SUCKS

I filed with TT on 1/24, accepted right away. Bar missing no access to transcripts. I called the IRS and was told there was an error processing the return and it would take 6-8 weeks from 2/1, which seems to be the time frame given to many today. I don’t know what to believe, she said there was no letter, no offsets or anything … She wouldn’t elaborate on the “error in processing”.

Spoke with IRS 2/10 – Told to call back 3 weeks after April 15th!!!

I filed on 1/20 and was accepted on 1/20 according to TurboTax. I called this Monday to ask about my return and was informed that I needed to verify my identity. After doing so, I was given the typical 6-8 week time frame for my return to be processed. I thought this was a little fishy, so I called again Tuesday morning and was told that my return needed further review and would still take 4-6 weeks. So at that point I decided I would call everyday this week to see if I get a different answer. I called today and what do you know? I was told my return was not accepted until 1/28 and had to wait another week. I called BS on the rep and was hung up on. I then immediately called back and was told what I was told on Monday. So it appears to me the IRS is trying to cover up the fact they are making mistakes and are WAY behind this season. I do have a question for everyone in this thread…is anyone expecting over $10K? I read that the IRS typically flags all those returns and makes you wait. Thanks!

APPARENTLY I’VE BEEN DELAYED SINCE MY REFUND IS SO LARGE AND CAN’T BE DD INTO MY BANK.. THEY’RE SENDING ME A PAPER CHECK THAT WON’T BE RELEASED ANY SOONER THAN MARCH 5TH.. MARCH 5TH!!!! I FILED ON 1.22 AND HE ALSO REPLIED THAT IF I DIDN’T SEE AN UPDATE ON WMR BY MARCH 5TH TO EITHER CALL OR WAIT ANOTHER 2 WKS AND CALL AGAIN. I SWEAR THEY HAVE THE MOST VAGUE ANSWERS TO PROBLEMS. BUT IT WAS NICE TO HEAR THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE RETURN ITSELF. HE SAID I SHOULD BE GETTING A LETTER IN THE MAIL SOON STATING WHY THERE WAS A DELAY.. LET’S SEE HOW TRUE THAT IS.

To get though to someone press 1 for english, then 5, and then 3. Ta da! It ranges from 10 to 30 minutes wait time. Also, the lady yesterday tried to tell me I wasn’t able to view my transcripts until after the 21st day but yet my husband has it last saved on his tablet from the 3rd and we haven’t been able to access them since. When I called her bluff, she had nothing to say about it.

Yesterday made my day 21. Filed on Jan 6th or 7th, accepted the 12 or 13th, and started processing the 20th when IRS opened. Called yesterday and talked to 3 people and they said it was under review and I would get a letter in a few days dated the 23rd (the rep said their computers were built back in the 60’s and they have to date things for 2 weeks ahead of when it comes out). He said it could take 60 days to clear up. No other info and the one lady said I had to wait for the 21st day to pass. Called today (day22) and while she was nice she said the same thing and that they need 45 days from the date of the letter (which will be the 23rd). I told her i literally have an eviction notice and she said she could file the form for a tax advocate, so I said yes to claim hardship, and she said I should hear something within 7 days. My husband has a customer who is a hr block tax person and he confirmed there was a glitch for early filers.

Just got off the phone with them. I filed 1/21, bars missing blah blah blah. He said there was an identity theft from 2011….wtf? I haven’t had an issue since then until this year. I smell a cover up

I spoke to the nicest person that probably works at the IRS. A true gentleman named Terry. He let me know there was a problem found on my return, no letters were sent out, and that it should resolve itself in 4-8 weeks.

I always hit 1-2-2-4-1 to speak to a live person.
-
February 11, 2015 at 5:39 pm #4106017Anonymous
Offset people said I owed nothing and would give me zero info. Called the IRS line multiple times, and the automated message hung up after saying “your return is still being processed”.
What options do people hit to talk to a live human being?
-
February 11, 2015 at 5:04 pm #4106002Anonymous
Finally got through, the automated menu hung up on me, couldn’t get back through. Decided to call the offset line and play dumb. My expected wait time is eight… now nine minutes… Wish me luck lol.

February 11, 2015 at 4:41 pm #4105987Philip
I called them again and it looks like they’re screening x many returns for possible identity theft. And a return can take an additional 45 to 65 days.
-
February 11, 2015 at 4:34 pm #4105984Lyn
I filed on 1/13 and was accepted on 1/14 (even though I know IRS opened on 1/20) my bars disappeared on 1/30 and never reappeared. I attempted to view my transcripts online and got the call identity protection unit message I called and they verified my identity on 1/30. Well on 2/9 still no movement or progress so I called a tax advocate because I had bills that were needing to be paid asap and I was at my 21 day mark. The tax advocate looked into it saw that I had been flagged for possible identity theft and she verified my identity and then transferred it to a local IRS office to be handled. I received a call on 2/10 the next day from the local office and she submitted paperwork saying I was indeed the correct person and told me it could take 1 to 3 weeks to clear up but that if I faxed in my bills they would send the money from my tax return to cover the bills and then I would receive the rest within 1 to 3 weeks so I am happy!

I was told there was a “Systemic Error” most like due to Insurance and my account was being escalated. Call back in 2 weeks.
-
February 11, 2015 at 3:56 pm #4105966Renee
Filed 1/21, accepted 1/22….had insurance through the marketplace. No movement at all. I broke down and called and was put on hole forEVER and finally came back and said it is still “processing” and to wait 2 weeks.
I honestly don’t mind the wait so much, I’m just worried about this healthcare business….husband’s job offers insurance but based on his base hourly salary it is above the percentage but he made a lot of overtime last year and now it’s very close. Surely, they won’t make us pay back the “help” we got in premiums from the marketplace. That stupid insurance was used one time to pay $160 when my daughter had strep throat! I’m taking the penalty from now on!
-
February 11, 2015 at 3:49 pm #4105962kara
Another day of ZERO progress for me. At this point, I don’t see how contacting the IRS will do any good. It seems like each rep has their own take that boils down to Just keep waiting.
-

Myself, no. Insurance through work.
-
February 11, 2015 at 3:40 pm #4105957Philip
I did purchase insurance through the market place. I was told that it was “user investigation” that that is normal and to just wait.

Did you have the gov’t health insurance?
I think this is holding up a lot of returns… just curious

Are you serious? Did they give any indication for the two week wait?
-
February 11, 2015 at 3:21 pm #4105938Philip
My 21days was yesterday. I called today and they told me to wait 2 weeks before calling in again.
