First year EIC

This is my first year qualifying for EIC (no children). Only worked for 5 months due to being robbed and attacked on the job so I didn’t earn much this past year.

I’ve always received my refund within a few days after filing. The longest I had to wait was a little over a week.

Last year I filed 1/27 and was accepted 1/29. Received refund 2/1.

Should I expect a delay this year?

If you claimed EIC, you will not receive your refund until after the 15th of February. Federal law states that refunds that claim that credit must be held until then. I have filed with EIC the last three years and I have received my refund on Feb 22nd every year although annoyingly at different times in the day.
