So just trying to keep everyone updated and maybe give some hope to those of you (us) still waiting on our refund.

Last week I had posted a topic titled ‘ID Verification’ explaining my journey this tax season thus far. Just to get everyone up to speed here are the details…

      E-filed (TT): 2/3
      Accepted: 2/3 (within 20 minutes)
      No fees
      Transcripts NA
      Turbo card

Refund was accepted at approximately 3:30am on 2/3. Didn’t see any movement on WMR/SBTPG (checked Sbtpg for safe measure) and I never saw any bars or anything other than “your refund is still being processed. A date will be provided when available” for the initial 21 day waiting period. Figuring something was delaying my refund as I’ve filed exactly the same using TT the last 3 years I checked my mail on 2/24. Sure enough I had a letter from the IRS (5071C ID Verification) dated 2/21. The process to verify my ID was extremely simple and nearly painless, just had to call the number listed within the letter and wait 32 minutes to talk to a rep. Entire verification process was done in less than 30 minutes. And the rep did say that I could have to wait up to 9 weeks for my refund but also assured me that my refund can be processed much quicker than the allotted time. And well my friends here we are! Finally! Movement on WMR, DDD of 3/4 with 2 bars showing. Will try to locate this thread to keep everyone updated but as of now, we made it! Hope the rest of you are having successes in tracking down your refund lol.

Thanks for the read and good luck!

@elled6 I’m confident the rest of the process will be smooth for you. Are you an early filer with credits?

@thicks I would keep checking your bank account if anything. Have seen many posts of people receiving refunds without WMR updating. I apologize as I may have been one of those people. My return was delayed for the 21 days until receiving the letter but as of today my refund was approved. Hope that clears it up a bit.

I just recently my letter to ID verify today. I was able to go online and do it. It took me all of 5 minutes. I had to send in my health info prior to this, so it’s been crazy. I’m hoping it goes by fast for me as well!

                    Are you an EIC filer?

                      I’m happy for you!

My verification was 3 days behind yours (but I e-filed 1 day after you), and I guess it was too late for the 20200805 cycle, so I still have no DDD.

(On a side note, it’s a bit confusing when people don’t make the proper distinction between RETURN and REFUND.)
