I filed my taxes early and hadn’t recieved my second stimulus. I followed what the IRS said to do and put it on my taxes return. Then a few days to a week later after January 15th deadline I got my stimulus. I’m in the middle of trying to buy a house and due to some issues are now stuck with closing costs. I’m banking on that money. I did not amend them and have every intention on send what I owe back. But I also claimed the eic. Will they still send my return in time?

My understanding, from reading other people’s posts, is that the IRS will compare your line 30 with their records and will adjust your refund amount accordingly. I seriously doubt you’ll have to pay anything back. It may delay sending of your refund by a couple of weeks.
