So I filed two days ago and than bam-another W2 in the mail I forgot about comes in today. My husband worked 2 jobs in 2017 and I filed both of them – But in 2018 he quit one as he was promoted to the current job. He worked in 2018 looks like about January – March and I completely didn’t realize he did this. I know I have to filed to ammend it but will I still get my original refund than amend later? Please advise.

If you amend now and the IRS owes you a refund from the second W-2, then you will get a separate check in the mail. If you have to pay back then the IRS will either take it from the refund or mail you a bill to pay them in a timely manner.

This happened to me a couple years ago and I was lucky enough that the IRS owed me money, so they sent me a separate check. It took about 4-6 weeks for it to arrive.
